Apex Clean Energy is seeking an Estimator to support the cost estimating efforts for our utility-scale renewable energy projects—including wind, solar, and energy storage. As part of the Pre-Construction team, you will play a key role in developing accurate and competitive cost estimates that help inform project planning, budgeting, and execution. The Estimator will report into the Director, Preconstruction.The ideal candidate will have at least 4 years of estimating experience in construction or energy projects, strong analytical and organizational skills, and a passion for the renewable energy industry.Primary Responsibilities<ul><li>Prepare detailed cost estimates for utility-scale renewable energy projects, including solar PV, wind, and battery storage installations.</li><li>Review RFPs, project plans, specifications, and other documentation to identify scope and all relevant cost components, including site preparation, permitting, equipment procurement, balance of plant, interconnection, and commissioning.</li><li>Collaborate with engineering, project management, procurement, and finance teams to align cost estimates with project scope and technical requirements.</li><li>Solicit and analyze quotes from subcontractors, equipment vendors, and suppliers to support accurate pricing.</li><li>Assist in developing and maintaining unit pricing databases, cost libraries, and standardized estimating templates.</li><li>Support the development of bid packages and proposal pricing for EPC or owner-led execution strategies.</li><li>Stay current on market trends, vendor pricing, labor rates, and material costs impacting renewable energy construction.</li><li>Contribute to post-project reviews to help refine estimating accuracy and incorporate lessons learned into future efforts.</li><li>Help identify cost risks and opportunities during early project development and pre-construction phases.</li><li>Maintain organized documentation of estimates and support compliance with internal controls and audit processes.</li></ul>
