<h2>Division</h2>OmniSource<h2>Overview</h2><p>Responsible for overall operations of the yard.</p><h2>Responsibilities</h2><ul> <li>Make operational decisions within the yard that are consistent with the yards annual and monthly plan.</li> <li>Facilitate, design, develop, evaluate, and track training for employee growth and development.</li> <li>Direct and manage plant operations for production, quality, shipping, and receiving.</li> <li>Ensure operating expenses are consistent with the facility budgetary and fiscal performance goals. Develop and control budgets and operating plans.</li> <li>Manage yard inventory.</li> <li>Evaluate, order new and/or replacement equipment as required.</li> <li>Control and manage labor overtime and minimize repair expenses.</li> <li>Implements and maintains preventative maintenance programs.</li> <li>Provide direction, development, and leadership to production supervisors.</li> <li>Ensure compliance in safety, environmental, and personnel issues that may arise.</li> <li>Provide leadership and training to accomplish the company goals &amp; objectives.</li> <li>Incorporate shop floor organization and plant cleanliness among plant personnel.</li> <li>Completes first report of accidents, incidents, and workers compensation claims</li> <li>Generate and maintain reports on a daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.</li> <li>Manage, coordinate and oversee inbound and outbound shipments.</li> <li>Ensure compliance in safety, environmental, and personnel issues that may arise.</li></ul><h2>Qualifications</h2><p><strong>Required</strong></p><ul> <li>Minimum three years supervisory experience.</li> <li>Experience with ferrous and non-ferrous scrap metals.</li> <li>Industrial maintenance background helpful. </li> <li>Strong written and verbal communication skills</li> <li>Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Outlook, &amp; Excel. <p>OmniSource, LLC is a multifaceted metals-recycling company&mdash;one of North America&rsquo;s largest processors and distributors of scrap and secondary metals. We collect, process, and resell a wide variety of scrap metal. Through recent expansions and acquisitions, we can now process 7 million tons of ferrous scrap per year and more than 1 billion pounds of nonferrous metals. We currently operate more than 70 collection and processing facilities, including 11 high-capacity shredders as well as other metals processing facilities, and employ about 2,500 people. Our primary collection and processing facilities are in the Midwest, the Southeast, and the mid-Atlantic regions of the United States. Moreover, utilizing a wide-ranging fleet of trucks and containers, railcars, and barges to collect and haul metals, our reach stretches across North America. Our national brokerage and trading operations serve both metals buyers and sellers, providing the market intelligence and insights needed to optimize transaction value. Supplementing our company-operated scrap collection sites, we also acquire metals from industrial scrap generators with which we have established strategic partnerships. We have designed and installed customized metals-recycling programs, some of which we manage and operate, for manufacturing companies nationwide.
