This is a unique opportunity to join a fast-growing, innovative team and play a key role in embedding health and safety into everything we do, not as a box-ticking exercise, but as a strategic enabler of people-first outcomes.You’ll work closely with teams across construction, operations, and engineering to support Fastned’s rapid growth. From developing risk mitigation strategies and incident response plans to leading training initiatives and collaborating on safety design, you’ll have real influence in shaping a proactive safety culture. What you’ll be doing:<ul><li>Lead the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of Fastned’s Health and Safety Management System (HSMS) in line with national and international standards.</li><li>Conduct practical risk assessments and guide the implementation of control measures across our stations, offices, and construction sites.</li><li>Act as a key contact for health and safety matters, engaging stakeholders from on-site contractors to executive leadership.</li><li>Monitor legal compliance across multiple countries and ensure timely implementation of new H&amp;S regulations and best practices.</li><li>Support incident management, lead root cause analysis, and champion preventative actions to ensure ongoing safety improvements.</li><li>Drive internal awareness through impactful training, toolbox talks, and engaging communications.</li><li>Collaborate across departments to embed safety thinking into all projects, from new builds to system upgrades.</li><li>Conduct audits, site inspections, and provide real-time health and safety advice for new equipment, processes, and locations.</li></ul>Who you are:<ul><li>You bring 5 to 8 years of progressive experience in health and safety, ideally in multi-site or construction environments.</li><li>Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Health, Engineering, or a related field.</li><li>Comfortable navigating European health and safety legislation and working across different regulatory environments.</li><li>Has experience building or evolving robust health and safety systems.</li><li>Proactive and solutions-focused, with strong analytical and stakeholder engagement skills.</li><li>Demonstrated ability to drive cultural change and influence all organizational levels.</li><li>Can drive a supportive, high-performing team by aligning goals, developing talent, and coaching others.</li><li>Hands-on and open to travelling regularly to our Fastned locations across Europe.</li><li>Fluent in English.
