PositionData Management (DMAN) Coordinator LocationPrimarily Greater Kafue Ecosystem (GKE), with responsibilities expanding across Zambia Start Date18 August 2025 Job DescriptionPanthera is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Data Coordinator to lead the processing, management, and reporting of all operational data — including law enforcement, human-wildlife conflict (HWC), and encroachment — from Panthera-supported sites in Zambia. Based primarily in the Greater Kafue Ecosystem (GKE), the role will expand to support sites nationally, ensuring data is accurate, timely, and effectively used for decision-making and strategic planning. Key Responsibilities <ul style=""><li style="font-size:11pt;margin:0px;line-height:1.38;"> Lead the processing, tracking, quality control, and coordination of all operational data from Panthera-supported sites across Zambia, primarily in the GKE.</li><li style="font-size:11pt;margin:0px;line-height:1.38;">Coordinate with field teams to ensure timely and accurate data collection, debriefing, and vetting, stepping in directly when needed.</li><li style="font-size:11pt;margin:0px;line-height:1.38;">Ensure data standards and consistency are upheld across all sites.</li><li style="font-size:11pt;margin:0px;line-height:1.38;">Develop, implement, and ensure adherence to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for operational data flows, processing, storage, and reporting across Panthera-supported sites in Zambia.</li><li style="font-size:11pt;margin:0px;line-height:1.38;"> Produce actionable data outputs — including presentations, reports and dashboards of maps, summaries, graphs, and charts — for conservation planning and decision-making.</li><li style="font-size:11pt;margin:0px;line-height:1.38;">Lead the preparation of monthly, donor, and annual reports using operational data, with a focus on clarity and utility.</li><li style="font-size:11pt;margin:0px;line-height:1.38;">Attend and present at all relevant operational planning and coordination meetings.</li><li style="font-size:11pt;margin:0px;line-height:1.38;">Maintain oversight of operational data equipment and reporting infrastructure, including control room displays and vehicle data records.</li><li style="font-size:11pt;margin:0px;line-height:1.38;">Ensure all operational data activities comply with Zambian laws, regulations, and data-sharing requirements, and align with the information needs of relevant government partners (e.g., DNPW)</li><li style="font-size:11pt;margin:0px;line-height:1.38;">Be a representative for Panthera within the SMART Partnership, providing feedback, participating in technical discussions, and contributing to shared learning and system improvements.</li><li style="font-size:11pt;margin:0px;line-height:1.38;">Coordinate and facilitate training for field staff on best practices in data collection and data management across all Panthera-supported sites.</li></ul> Qualifications and Experience<ul style=""><li style="font-size:11pt;margin:0px;line-height:1.38;text-align:justify;">BSC Wildlife Management, Project Management, Natural Resources or a related field (e.g., GIS)</li><li style="font-size:11pt;margin:0px;line-height:1.38;text-align:justify;">Minimum 3 years’ experience working within an NGO or the conservation sector Proven experience in coordinating and managing projects effectively.</li><li style="font-size:11pt;margin:0px;line-height:1.38;text-align:justify;">Demonstrated ability to lead and manage teams remotely or in an office setting.</li><li style="font-size:11pt;margin:0px;line-height:1.38;text-align:justify;"> Practical experience in wildlife law enforcement and/or wildlife management is essential.</li><li style="font-size:11pt;margin:0px;line-height:1.38;text-align:justify;"> Experience in the Spatial Monitoring Tool (SMART), GIS, EarthRanger or other relevant conservation technology tools is essential.</li></ul>Skills and Attributes<ul style=""><li style="color:rgb(43,51,58);font-size:11pt;margin:0px;line-height:1.38;text-align:justify;">Highly analytical with strong attention to detail</li><li style="color:rgb(43,51,58);font-size:11pt;margin:0px;line-height:1.38;text-align:justify;">Proven problem solving abilities</li><li style="color:rgb(43,51,58);font-size:11pt;margin:0px;line-height:1.38;text-align:justify;">Strong interpersonal skills, written/verbal communication skills</li><li style="color:rgb(43,51,58);font-size:11pt;margin:0px;line-height:1.38;text-align:justify;">Excellent communication and presentation skills: able to explain analytics in nontechnical terms to users and other diverse audiences</li><li style="color:rgb(43,51,58);font-size:11pt;margin:0px;line-height:1.38;text-align:justify;"> A current driving license and driving experience is essential</li></ul> How to Apply Interested applicants should submit their most recent CV and a cover letter in one PDF document outlining their interest in the position via the Panthera Careers Page.
