There will be a focus towards continuous integration and deployment.Role Responsibilities<ul><li>Work closely with the Architect/Principal to build solutions that align to the IT strategy/vision. </li></ul><ul><li>Provide support and mentoring to other members of the team. </li></ul><ul><li>Work in partnership with QA counterpart to ensure the delivery of quality software. </li></ul><ul><li>Promote delivery of quality software – unit tests, code reviews etc. </li></ul><ul><li>Experiment with multiple technologies and methodologies as part of delivery, to help guarantee the best solution and approach. </li></ul><ul><li>Deliver against both Functional and Non-functional requirements. </li></ul><ul><li>Take Ownership/Accountability for development of key features and drive to completion. </li></ul><ul><li>Communicate effectively on progress and ensure impediments are raised early to minimise impact on the delivery. </li></ul>Experience / CompetencesEssential<ul><li>+5 years proven experience operating as a senior software engineer</li><li>Expert in recent and latest versions of .NET Framework and .NET Core (C#) using Visual Studio for C# development.  </li><li>Skilled in relational databases (e.g., MSSQL Server, MySQL), including schema design and optimization.  </li><li>Proficient in WPF application design.  </li><li>Demonstrable experience in message and event-based asynchronous messaging.  </li><li>Capable of writing and maintaining a distributed real-time system.  </li><li>Skilled in designing components of a distributed system.  </li><li>Knowledge and use of AWS (or a similar cloud platform), including deployment and management of assets.  </li><li>Familiarity with Gitlabs/GitHub, CI/CD build pipelines, and package management.  </li><li>Knowledgeable in Jira or similar issue management system.  </li><li>Adept at Agile working practices, strong communication including collaboration with local and remote team members.  </li><li>Appreciation of the full SDLC, proactive involvement in shaping the delivery prior and during development, through QA phase, and post-release support.  </li><li>Excellent attention to detail, highly organised with a proactive and independent approach to problem solving and innovative solutions.  </li><li>Delivery-focused and pragmatic, capable of working on multiple tasks simultaneously and managing deadlines.  </li><li>Critically evaluate and offer challenge to design or approach to achieve the best outcome for the project.  </li><li>Delivering a proof of concept (POC) to the required level of detail to validate an approach.  </li><li>Proficient in writing test tools and documentation of systems  </li></ul>Non-Essential<ul><li>Background and experience of financial/ trading platforms and knowledge of financial markets </li><li>Knowledge of FIX protocol and ability to handle FIX interactions.  </li><li>Understanding of Java and JavaScript.  </li><li>In-depth knowledge of AWS services. </li><li>Experience with serverless architecture and microservices. </li><li>Experience with TDD, BDD or similar approaches to specifying requirements and design.  </li></ul>Job Band &amp; Level – Manager, 6Not The Perfect Fit?Concerned that you may not meet the criteria precisely?
