We are seeking an equally passionate Activation Technician to help further our mission through excellent craftsmanship, customer service, and a team-focused approach.</p><p>The Activation Technician position is responsible for coordinating and performing the commissioning and activation of solar PV systems, working with technicians or subcontractors to resolve any issues. This role involves interacting with customers, maintaining a high standard of representation for PosiGen, and using an app-based platform to upload photos and provide project updates. Additional duties include scheduling inspections, assisting installation teams, and handling administrative tasks, all while adhering to safety protocols and organizational policies, including OSHA training.</p><p><strong>Essential Job Functions</strong></p><ul><li>Coordinate and oversee the commissioning and activation of solar PV systems, ensuring proper system functionality.</li><li>Perform necessary tasks for system activation, addressing any required corrections and collaborating with technicians or subcontractors to resolve issues.</li><li>Prepare equipment for activation, including opening electrical and solar equipment, setting up ladders, and fulfilling other activation requirements.</li><li>Engage with customers daily, upholding PosiGen's high standards of service and professionalism.</li><li>Utilize an application-based platform to capture and upload photos to the project management database.</li><li>Provide daily project updates and status reports to ensure consistent communication.</li><li>Coordinate with town officials and customers to schedule required inspections.</li><li>Effectively communicate and schedule with customers and homeowners for timely project completion.</li><li>Support installation teams as needed to ensure seamless project execution.</li><li>Perform administrative tasks as assigned by the manager, contributing to efficient operations.</li><li>Adhere to organizational policies and safety procedures, including OSHA compliance and completing necessary training.</li><li>Participate in required training and meetings, ensuring knowledge of safety protocols and company policies.</li><li>Other duties as assigned by leadership.</li></ul><p><strong>Education/Experience</strong></p><ul><li>High School diploma or Trade School certification in construction, building sciences, engineering, or architecture preferred.</li><li>Building Performance Institute (BPI) certification or experience in Energy Efficiency is strongly preferred.</li><li>Minimum of three years of experience in construction, building sciences, or a related field; experience in estimating, site auditing, or photovoltaic installation preferred.</li><li>Previous customer service experience is a plus.</li><li>Proficiency with MS Office and various applications; a strong willingness to learn new technologies, including online platforms like Dropbox and Salesforce (CRM), on various devices (laptop, tablet, smartphone).</li><li>Comfortable working from ladders, scaffolding, and in confined spaces such as crawl spaces, attics, or under mobile homes.</li><li>General knowledge of energy-saving material installations and the associated tools.</li><li>Must be flexible based on customer availability.</li><li>Must have a valid state driver’s license and reliable transportation. </li><li>Willing to move through the pre-employment screening process.</li></ul><p><strong>Physical Demands</strong></p><p>The physical demands outlined below are representative of those that an employee must meet to successfully perform the essential functions of this role.</p><ul><li>Ability to work in a variety of extreme environmental conditions (e.g., high heat, cold temperatures).</li><li>Must be willing and able to climb ladders, ascend/descend stairs, and work on rooftops of multi-level buildings, as well as within confined spaces such as attics.</li><li>While performing the duties of this role, the employee will regularly be required to speak and hear.
