We have a dedicated team of people working across our various North London sites, making a positive difference to the environment and the local community.By processing household waste at our facility, we produce enough waste from energy to power 80,000 homes every year and recycle 70% of items through our Reuse and Recycling Centres.About the role:We have an exciting opportunity for a Multi-Skilled Operative to join our team based at the Hornsey Street Waste Transfer Station in Islington.Responsibilities:<ul> <li> Operate and Maintain Equipment: Safely operate mobile and static plant machinery for waste handling, vehicle loading, and maintenance checks; report any faults or defects. </li> <li> Traffic and Site Control: Manage traffic flow within the tipping hall and transport yard, directing bulk vehicles and ensuring adherence to site procedures. </li> <li> Waste Inspection and Compliance: Inspect incoming waste, identify non-conforming materials, and manage them according to company and legislative requirements. </li> <li> Weighbridge Operations: Accurately process weighbridge transactions using electronic systems or manual methods during system failures. </li> <li> Monitoring and Reporting: Use CCTV to monitor site activities, record incidents, and prepare summary reports and log entries as required. </li> <li> Cleaning and Housekeeping: Keep the tipping hall and surrounding areas clean by containing spillages and using proper tools and equipment. </li> <li> Health, Safety, and Communication: Identify and report hazards, assist supervisors, and communicate any irregularities or customer issues effectively.</li> </ul>Requirements<ul> <li>You must be able to work a 10 week rotating shift pattern which includes day and evening shifts (with the earliest start time of 06:00 and latest finishing time of 23:45).
