The successful candidate is comfortable performing a wide range of tasks from administrative to strategic. The position is based in Batesburg, SC.Accountabilities:<ul><li>Preparing and retrieving parts and materials, potentially using forklifts, pallet jacks or hand trucks</li><li>Assembling products and components, following blueprints, schematics, or work instructions</li><li>Utilizing hand tools, power tools, and potentially machinery to complete assembling tasks</li><li>Assisting with routine maintenance</li><li>Inspecting assembled products for accuracy, completeness, and compliance, to include HSE requirements, transcendent quality standards, and safety critical requirements</li><li>Maintaining inventory records using scanning and tracking systems</li><li>Maintaining a clean and organized workspace</li><li>Collaborating with other assemblers and team members to meet production goals</li><li>Ensuring tools and equipment are in good working order</li><li>Identifying and reporting any issues or malfunctions</li><li>Adhering to safety procedures and guidelines as well as company policies</li></ul>Must have the ability to:<ul><li>Obtain a Forklift Operator certification</li><li>Manipulate small parts and tools with precision</li><li>Understand measurements and follow instructions</li><li>Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and work instructions</li><li>Lift, stand, walk, and work on concrete surfaces for extended periods of time</li><li>Learn new processes and procedures</li><li>Work in a fast-paced environment</li><li>Manually lift or lower items weighing &lt; 24lbs (10.9kg)</li><li>Push or pull efforts &lt; 42lbs (19kg)</li></ul>Required skills/experience:<ul><li>Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office applications and SAP Enterprise Software</li><li>The ability to work in an environment that requires physical and continual movement</li></ul>Desired skills/experience:<ul><li>Previous assembling experience</li><li>Basic soldering experience</li><li>Familiar with basic crimp style terminations</li><li>Knowledgeable of Hitachi Rail products</li></ul>Education: High school diploma or equivalent educationLanguage:English ProficiencyBenefits: Hitachi Rail employees enjoy a comprehensive benefits package including Competitive Pay, Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance, Short &amp; Long Term Disability, Life &amp; Accident Insurance, Flexible Spending Accounts, a Retirement Savings Plan, and Paid Vacation.
