In this role you will own the data layer, build efficient pipelines, clean up legacy schema issues and work towards making it easier for others to report data accurately and quickly. You will be the go-to person for analytics, reporting, and database clarity.Core Responsibilities:<ul><li>Design and optimize data models that support self-service reporting</li><li>Own the structure and performance of core reporting tables and views</li><li>Build and maintain Power BI dashboards, visuals, and semantic models</li><li>Write complex SQL across multiple systems (ERP, CRM, finance) to clean, join, and shape data</li><li>Define and document metrics, KPIs, and business logic for reuse</li><li>Troubleshoot reporting issues at the database layer, not just in visuals</li><li>Improve data workflows, reduce duplication, and simplify downstream reporting</li><li>Monitor and troubleshoot issues in data pipelines and dashboards</li></ul> Required Qualifications:<ul><li>5+ years experience in data analytics, BI development, or a similar role with hands on development</li><li>Advanced SQL skills (CTEs, window functions, query tuning)</li><li>Strong Power BI skills (DAX and Power Query/M)</li><li>Understanding of finance, inventory, sales, or manufacturing data</li><li>Experience with database normalization and schema design</li><li>Able to work independently and own a problem from start to finish</li><li>Bachelor’s in Computer Science, Statistics, Information Systems, or similar</li></ul> Preferred Qualifications:<ul><li>PostgreSQL experience strongly preferred</li><li>Experience fixing or redesigning poorly structured data tables</li><li>Familiarity with Python for scripting and automation</li><li>Exposure to ERP and CRM systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Salesforce)</li><li>Comfortable working in hybrid business/IT teams with minimal supervision</li></ul>Join the global Xylem team to be a part of innovative technology solutions transforming water usage, conservation, and re-use.
