The Payroll Specialist will be someone who is highly competent with spreadsheets and possesses a high attention to detail. This position is in our People organization and will interact with everyone in the organization. Therefore, the ability to communicate clearly and concisely is a requirement for this role. </p><h2>Responsibilities</h2><ul> <li>Support the bi-weekly payroll cycle, such as timecard review and pay data imports </li></ul><ul> <li>Perform bi-weekly timecard audits for meal break compliance </li></ul><ul> <li>Document policies and procedures </li></ul><ul> <li>Maintain and troubleshoot physical time clocks </li></ul><ul> <li>Set up payroll in new states and submit timely informational and tax filings </li></ul><ul> <li>Exporting payroll data from ADP and preparing reports in Excel, such as an overtime report </li></ul><ul> <li>As needed, collaborate with the HRIS Analyst on system implementations and data integrity </li></ul><h2>Required</h2><ul> <li>Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business or related field with a minimum 4 years of payroll experience  </li> <li>In lieu of degree, High School Diploma or equivalent with a minimum 7 years of payroll experience</li></ul><ul> <li>Minimum 2 years of experience using ADP Workforce Now </li></ul><ul> <li>Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, including INDEX, MATCH, SUMIFS and data analysis functions </li></ul><ul> <li>Self-directed with the ability to work independently </li></ul><ul> <li>High attention to detail and accuracy in reviewing payroll data and reports </li></ul><ul> <li>Ability to identify discrepancies and resolve payroll issues efficiently </li></ul><ul> <li>Excellent documentation and communication skills </li></ul><ul> <li>Demonstrated Time Management skills </li></ul><ul> <li>Experience with manufacturing/production employees </li></ul><ul> <li>Knowledge of payroll-related laws, regulations, and compliance standards (e.g., FLSA, IRS, state, and local tax regulations) </li></ul><h2>Desired</h2><p> </p><ul> <li>2 or more years of experience in a startup environment </li></ul><ul> <li>Knowledge of SOX compliance standards </li> <li>Experience with data visualization tools, such as Power BI, Tableau, or similar platforms</li> <li>Ability to build and maintain dashboards that provide insights into payroll trends, audit results, and KPIs</li> <li>Experience with platform implementations and testing support</li> <li>Continuous improvement mindset</li></ul><p> </p><p> </p><p>Compensation at Joby is a combination of base pay and Restricted Stock Units (RSUs). The target base pay for this position is $65,471 - $106,600/year.
