In this role, you will be a strategic and operational leader responsible for end-to-end logistics execution, warehouse yard strategy, and 3PL management. You will focus on ownership of heavy equipment (e.g. energy storage, transformers etc.), inventory management, and transportation. Working closely with the logistics and supply chain leadership, you will oversee inventory control, vendor shipments, and cost optimization strategies. This role may evolve into people leadership, making cross-functional collaboration and mentorship critical. We are accepting candidates across our hub offices of Boston, MA,  Lawrence, MA, and Chicago, IL where you will be hybrid. You will report to the Manager, Logistics.What you’ll do:  <ul><li>Oversee strategic planning and day-to-day execution of warehouse yard activities across all regions. </li><li>Forecast and manage warehouse yard capacity to match current and future demand. </li><li>Develop and maintain strong partnerships with 3PL providers; ensure contractual and performance SLAs are met. </li><li>Establish and maintain SOPs for yard management, preventive maintenance tracking, and asset traceability. </li><li>Ensure accurate inventory records in coordination with inventory management teams and ERP tools (e.g., NetSuite). </li><li>Lead planning, scheduling, and execution of all inbound/outbound shipments, ensuring timely delivery to project sites. </li><li>Streamline vendor shipment management through cross-functional coordination with Procurement, Project Management, and Field Ops teams. </li><li>Recruit and manage carrier networks (including contract carriers) for project-specific needs. </li><li>Develop and execute contingency and risk mitigation plans around capacity constraints, supplier delays, and site accessibility issues. </li><li>Serve as the NetSuite logistics operations lead, ensuring workflows, customizations, and data hygiene support efficient logistics execution. </li><li>Continuously optimize system usage and train team members on best practices for ERP-driven operations. </li><li>Own training and upskilling logistics team members on ERP workflows, dashboards, and reporting tools. </li><li>Negotiate and manage logistics-related contracts and partnerships. </li><li>Monitor and approve freight, storage, and transport invoices; ensure alignment with budget and expectations. </li><li>Use tools like Coupa for spend oversight and cost reduction analysis. </li><li>May manage 1–3 direct reports (e.g., logistics coordinators), fostering professional development and performance management. </li><li>Serve as a key liaison between Logistics and other departments, ensuring real-time operational transparency and alignment. </li><li>Act as an escalation path for logistics issues across the org; represent logistics in cross-functional planning forums. </li></ul>What you’ll bring: <ul><li>7+ years of experience with 3+ years of people management experience. </li><li>Experience managing 3PL and freight carriers. </li><li>Experience managing RFPs for Carriers &amp; 3PLs. </li><li>Experience with WMS systems.</li><li>Commitment to Nexamp's mission and have a passion for solving tomorrow's climate crisis today.</li><li>Demonstrated experience in effectively communicating information, ideas, and perspectives with people inside and beyond your organization.   </li><li>Experience in showcasing initiative to make improvements to current work, processes, products, and services across the organization.
