Job description<br>                                <div style="text-align:justify;">We are currently seeking a <strong>National Consultant in Agriculture </strong>for a project in Gabon. The consultant will provide technical expertise and analytical support to the NDC 3.0 development process, focusing on the agriculture sector. He will contribute to the sectoral stakeholder’s engagement, data collection and analysis, adaptation and GHG modeling, identification and prioritization of mitigation and adaptation measures in the sector, ensuring alignment with national development priorities and the Paris agreement. </div><div style="text-align:justify;"><br></div><div style="text-align:justify;"><strong>Key Responsibilities:</strong></div><div style="text-align:justify;"><br></div><div style="text-align:justify;">Under the guidance of the Project Lead</div><ul><li style="text-align:justify;">Consider the recommendation from the NDC2.0 assessment relating to the <strong>Agriculture</strong> sector</li><li style="text-align:justify;">Facilitate consultations with relevant ministries (agriculture, livestock, water resources and other sectors), national institutions and any relevant actors including private and CSO</li><li style="text-align:justify;">Gather, review, and analyze sectoral data on Agriculture resilience and emissions from agriculture including livestock sectors (eg: CO2, methane from livestock and rice culture, nitrous oxide from fertilizer use, etc.)</li><li style="text-align:justify;">Develop baseline (business-as-usual) for Agriculture both vulnerability and GHG emissions up to 2035.</li><li style="text-align:justify;">Identify, assess, and prioritize sectoral measures, and interventions for adaptation and mitigation including ongoing projects</li><li style="text-align:justify;">Ensure alignment with national development plans, the LTS and sectoral policies (Agriculture including livestock) and climate resilience strategies </li><li style="text-align:justify;">Quantify expected emission reductions and co-benefits of proposed measures and develop mitigation scenarios for Agriculture to 2035 and developed the adaptation target</li><li style="text-align:justify;">Contribute to estimate costs of proposed measures and identify financing needs and options </li><li style="text-align:justify;">Draft and provide technical inputs for the Agriculture sections of the NDC</li><li style="text-align:justify;">Participate technical workshop and validation workshop</li></ul>                            Your profile<br>                                <ul><li style="text-align:justify;">A master’s degree in agriculture, climate science or a related field</li><li style="text-align:justify;">At least 5 years of working experience in climate change adaptation, research, and policy analysis</li><li style="text-align:justify;">Analytical skills and ability to work both with quantitative data (e.g. emissions data, accounting issues) and policy context </li><li style="text-align:justify;">Excellent understanding and experience in National Adaptation Planning and Nationally Determined Contributions </li><li style="text-align:justify;">High organization skills, being detail-oriented a motivated self-starter and a team player able to interact and cooperate with a diverse array of people, including remotely in a highly international team</li><li style="text-align:justify;">Experience with data analysis, research, climate vulnerability assessment, climate risk analysis</li><li style="text-align:justify;">Proficiency in data analysis tools for GHG modeling (EXACT, LEAP and other relevant tools)</li><li style="text-align:justify;">Excellent French writing and verbal skills.
