(Senior) Technical Expert, Gas Systems&nbsp;Technical Services is a globally recognised technical knowledge centre within Wärtsilä. Our primary mission is to offer comprehensive technical support to both internal and external stakeholders throughout the lifecycle of Wärtsilä's products and solutions. If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you! &nbsp;We are seeking an enthusiastic Senior Technical Expert specialising in Gas Systems to join our skilled Engine Auxiliary Systems team. We welcome candidates at various levels of seniority, as this role can also be offered as Technical Expert.&nbsp;The position is offered as a permanent contract and the preferred locations are&nbsp;Vaasa, Finland, but Trieste, Italy can also be considered. In line with our hybrid work model, you will be able to work partially remotely. To support our customers around the world, occasional travel is required, with the flexibility to adjust the frequency based on your preferences.&nbsp;What will you be doing?&nbsp;As a (Senior) Technical Expert, you will work with technical queries from end customers. You will solve complex technical and operational problems, propose product improvements to meet quality targets, and ultimately ensure customer satisfaction. This role bridges the gap between theory and practice, field operations, and RDE, bringing field incident experience to developers and suppliers to prevent recurrence.&nbsp;In this role, you will act as a global expert when it comes to field activities on Gas Systems, but you may also develop to serve as a backup for methanol systems and future fuels. Given the technical problem-solving nature of this position, we hope you are passionate about finding solutions to complex technical issues. Especially NG and/or LNG experiences are valued.&nbsp;&nbsp;Your responsibilities for the role include, but are not limited to:&nbsp;&nbsp;<ul><li>Providing high-level expert support for internal and external customers. </li><li>Conducting site surveys and troubleshooting in the field. </li><li>Performing failure analyses and root cause analyses.</li><li>Producing field follow-up materials, feedback analyses, and reports.</li><li>Creating and maintaining technical content in service bulletins.</li><li>Participating in the introduction of new products and solutions.</li><li>Supporting product improvement processes by sharing valuable field experiences and feedback. </li><li>Representing the company as a Technical Expert in customer and supplier meetings.</li><li>Occasionally hosting training sessions for internal and external customers.</li><li>Actively engaging in continuous competence development and acquiring new knowledge within your area of expertise.</li></ul>&nbsp;&nbsp;Preferred qualifications and experience:&nbsp;<ul><li>BSc or MSc in Mechanical Engineering or similar education, or qualifications gained through relevant work experience. </li><li>Practical experience with gas systems (NG/LNG) in the field.</li><li>A basic understanding of mass and heat balances.</li><li>Experience with engine cooling, heat recovery, lubrication, or gas systems.</li><li>A solution-oriented mindset and excellent analytical and technical problem-solving skills. </li><li>Ambition to learn, adapt to, and develop new technologies.</li><li>Proficient English language skills are required, Finnish or Swedish language skills are beneficial. </li><li>Willingness to travel when required. </li></ul>&nbsp;&nbsp;The following will enable you to succeed in this role:&nbsp;<ul><li>Genuine passion for solving problems and a desire to make a meaningful impact.</li><li>Strong interpersonal skills and a service-oriented mindset to provide the best possible experience for our customers.</li><li>Self-directed approach with the capability to drive work forward independently.</li><li>Team-player mindset with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.</li><li>Organised, proactive, and flexible way of working. </li><li>Strong understanding the importance of quality.</li></ul>&nbsp;&nbsp;What we offer:&nbsp;In this role, you will be part of a global, innovative, and customer-driven organisation, working with cutting-edge technologies.
