<div>BTS Bioenergy is seeking a General Laborer for our state-of-the-art Anaerobic Digestion facility in Jessup, Maryland. The General Laborer is responsible for performing a variety of tasks including handling materials, maintaining cleanliness and organization of the site, and assisting other team members with daily operations. This on-site position will report to the Waste Receiving Floor Supervisor &amp; Waste Receiving Asst. Plant Manager. </div><div><br></div><div>This position is for a Daytime Shift 7am - 7pm and will operate on a two-week cycle. Week One is Wednesday - Saturday and Week Two is Thursday - Saturday.</div><br><br><h3>RESPONSIBILITIES</h3><ul><li>Assist with routine plant operations, including material handling and equipment monitoring</li><li>Unload organic waste, depalletizing and/or unpackaging materials as needed</li><li>Inspect incoming loads, sort and separate organic materials and contaminants according to company procedures</li><li>Perform general maintenance tasks, such as cleaning, painting and minor repairs; tasks to include sweeping, power-washing, trash/debris/snow removal, regular sanitation of machinery, equipment and work areas</li><li>Perform entry level maintenance tasks, identifying and reporting and maintenance and safety appropriate personnel</li><li>Adhere to all safety regulations and always wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE). </li><li>Provide support to machine operators, maintenance mechanics, customers and others, as needed. </li><li>Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor/manager on duty to ensure smooth operation of the facility</li></ul><h3>QUALIFICATIONS &amp; EXPERIENCE</h3><ul><li>HS General Education Degree or equivalent</li><li>Previous experience in waste management, recycling, or industrial setting preferred </li><li>Basic understanding of safety procedures and ability to follow instructions</li><li>Basic mechanical aptitude and ability to use hand tools</li><li>Good communication skills and ability to work well within a team </li></ul><h3>PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS</h3><ul><li><b>Mobility and Physical Strength:</b></li><div> Must be able to climb ladders and stairs to access various areas of the facility.</div><div>Must have the physical strength to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50lbs pounds.</div><div>Capable of standing, walking, bending, kneeling, crouching, reaching, and climbing as necessary throughout the shift.</div><li><b>Environmental Conditions:</b></li><div>Able to work both indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions, including exposure to high and low temperatures, humidity, rain, and wind.</div><div>Capable of withstanding strong or unpleasant odors and common food allergens</div><li><b>Work at Heights and Confined Spaces:</b></li><div>May need to be harnessed to safety reach areas of the facility for maintenance or inspection, sometimes at heights or in confined spaces.</div><div>Must be comfortable working at elevated heights or in confined spaces as part of routine duties.</div><li><b>Sensory and Communication Requirements:</b></li><div>Must have adequate vision, hearing, and dexterity to perform duties safely and effectively, with or without assistive devices or accommodations.</div><div>Capable of communicating effectively in an industrial setting to ensure safe and efficient operations.</div><li><b>Additional Physical Requirements:</b></li><div>Ability to wear all required personal protective equipment (PPE) as necessary, which may include respiratory protection, gloves, hard hats, and protective clothing.</div><div><br></div><li>Reasonable accommodation may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.  </li></ul><br><div>EQUAL OPPORTUNITY EMPLOYER</div><div><br></div><div>We are an equal opportunity employer and value diversity at our company.
