Join our exceptional team today and help shape the future of energy! Position Specific DescriptionThe role involves ensuring the implementation and management of the PGD Environmental Management System, overseeing site water, wastewater, and vegetation in accordance with environmental permits. This position is responsible for managing all regional aspects of environmental compliance, while supporting the execution of plant processes and procedures to achieve safety, environmental, compliance, reliability, availability, and cost management goals for the Northeast/Central region of Florida Power and Light.  Key Responsibilities: Environmental Maintenance &amp; Performance Optimization<ul><li>Optimize site environmental maintenance and performance.</li><li>Conduct and submit required inspection and maintenance activities on time per site environmental permits.</li><li>Prepare and submit environmental reporting to local, state, and federal agencies promptly.</li></ul> Compliance Management<ul><li>Oversee adherence to site SPCC (Spill Prevention Control &amp; Countermeasure) and FRP (Facility Response Plan) requirements.</li><li>Develop and maintain relationships with local, state, and federal agencies.</li><li>Apply process and project management skills to deliver results effectively.</li><li>Address site environmental deficiencies proactively.</li></ul> Process Standardization &amp; Leadership<ul><li>Standardize processes, procedures, and techniques for repeatability.</li><li>Demonstrate leadership for internal employee development and performance management.</li></ul> Transition from Construction to Operations:<ul><li>Conduct Pre-COD Site Walkdowns to document ongoing civil issues and ensure compliance.</li><li>Identify and resolve operational environmental issues before COD and ensure completion of lingering items before turnover.</li><li>Collect site information and initiate permitting for all office buildings or operational structures.</li><li>Review and ensure compliance with site-specific county, state, and federal permits.</li><li>Coordinate contractors and set up contracts for ongoing compliance-related maintenance and monitoring.</li><li>Create procedures for any site-specific compliance requirements.</li><li>Ensure proper close-out and sign-off on all construction-related permits, supporting final agency walkdowns and transitioning active permits to the operations phase.</li><li>Train new and existing operations crew on compliance requirements.</li></ul> Operational Support:<ul><li>Oversee and support the Regional Environmental Program.</li><li>Continuously verify that Solar &amp; Storage Environmental Management System (EMS) processes and procedures are executed in the field.</li><li>Manage Compliance Management tracker tasks and deadlines.</li><li>Prepare for and support internal and external environmental audits.</li><li>Serve as the local point of contact for agency inquiries and site visits.</li><li>Provide field support and management of environmental events.</li><li>Proactively identify and resolve site-specific compliance issues.</li><li>Perform internal and external reporting on environmental events.</li><li>Support root cause analysis for environmental events.</li><li>Maintain site compliance with permit conditions and agency requirements.</li><li>Ensure sites perform routine inspections and maintenance events ahead of due dates.</li><li>Manage contractor oversight and environmental compliance programs, including stormwater management, conservation lands maintenance, vegetation management, wildlife trapping response, oil spill prevention, and response.</li><li>Conduct regional annual staff environmental awareness and compliance training.</li><li>Handle civil/stormwater management and contractor coordination, hazardous material management, tracking, and disposal.</li><li>Track water use permitting, reporting, and well management.</li><li>Manage environmental record retention and document management.</li></ul> Desired Qualifications:<ul><li>Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science or a related field.</li><li>Knowledge of state and federal environmental regulations.</li><li>Familiarity with local flora, fauna, and habitats.</li><li>Strong oral and written communication skills.</li><li>Proficiency in analysis, problem-solving, compliance, leadership, and process/project management.</li><li>Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.</li></ul> This role is critical for ensuring environmental compliance and operational efficiency in Florida Power and Light's projects in the assigned region.
