The preferred location for this position is Vaasa, Finland and we offer the possibility of hybrid work.  Your role and responsibilities: As an Expert, CSO Mechanical within our technology organisation, you will work in our team where power plant solutions based on Wärtsilä engines together with our customer’s environmental needs and requirements, are turned into sustainable solutions. You will support our sales and delivery projects and contribute to the transition towards a sustainable fuel and energy landscape. The expertise field is broad and requires continuous learning. Your tasks are adjusted based on your individual skills.  Your work will focus on these responsibilities: <ul><li>Manage the overall design process, delivering power plant exhaust gas system ducts, and hot steel structures for our CSO product (Combined Selective reduction and Oxidation catalyst) providing state of the art emission abatement for engine power plants.</li><li>Lead the technical value chain: engineering, design, manufacturing, delivery, documentation.</li><li>Set and maintain design rules, guidelines, documentation, and tools used in construction and delivery of large hot steel structures.</li><li>Ensure equipment is built in accordance with power plant requirements. Supervise studies with CFD, FEM etc that are conducted by other experts but lead by you to secure design details.</li><li>Maintain an overview and support other areas of expertise for the delivery of CSO emission abatement systems from mechanical perspective. Being responsible for knowledge sharing related to best practices for our stakeholders, delivery organizations, quality management, sourcing, and external parties.</li><li>Leading development projects within own responsibility areas and support other development projects within your field of expertise.</li><li>Ensuring product information and data related to own responsibility areas are up to date so that power plants efficiently and reliably can be offered and delivered.</li><li>Collecting data from running installations and feedback from stakeholders, analysing and documenting improvement needs and ideas.</li><li>Planning and executing quarterly product improvements based on prioritised items in the product backlog.</li></ul>  To be able to succeed in the position, we expect you to have: <ul><li>BSc, MSc (Mechanical design or similar).</li><li>A strong technical background with understanding for the design of large hot structures and housings. Experience with for instance boilers/economizers or similar constructions is an asset. Alternatively, the right theoretical base and keen interest and capability to learn and develop within this area. The entrance title can be adjusted based on previous experience and expertise and gaps will be bridged through learning. </li><li>An understanding of steel construction requirements from a holistic perspective to ensure that a multitude of design requirements are considered and communicated properly.</li><li>A target oriented, analytical, systematic approach with strong problem-solving skills. </li><li>Good understanding of stakeholder requirements and the skill to communicate with drawings to turn these into practical solutions.</li><li>Strong collaborator skills: you can manage a large span of stakeholders and work in virtual teams.</li><li>Skills in organizing your work.
