Join us.What you’ll doThe Senior Director of Procurement is responsible for developing and executing the strategic sourcing, negotiation, and procurement of raw materials and capital equipment across Niron . This role ensures alignment with business objectives, drives cost efficiencies, and supports large-scale construction and manufacturing initiatives. The Senior Director will oversee supplier relationships, contract execution, category strategy development for raw materials, and direct and indirect spend management. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of supply chain dynamics and a proven track record in procurement leadership within a manufacturing environment.Strategic Leadership<ul><li>Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, and quality teams to align sourcing strategies with product development and production needs</li><li>Drives thought leadership in developing and implementing procurement guidelines and sourcing strategies</li><li>Develop plans and deliver results in fast changing business environment</li><li>Anticipate internal/external business challenges to drive change</li></ul>Team Leadership<ul><li>Lead and develop a high-performing procurement team, fostering a culture of accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement</li><li>Provide strategic direction and mentorship to team members, supporting career growth and skill development.</li><li>Grow and develop talent through clear performance expectations, coaching, and regular feedback</li></ul>Category Management<ul><li>Responsible for leading and executing the purchasing supply management activities for all categories and sub-categories of capex and raw materials</li><li>Train internal stakeholders on category strategy application.</li><li>Monitor compliance and adjust strategies based on performance metrics.</li></ul>Supplier and Market Management<ul><li>Identify, evaluate and manage supplier relationships to ensure quality, cost-effectiveness and timely delivery</li><li>Analyze market trends, supplier capabilities, and business requirements to optimize sourcing decisions</li><li>Cultivate strong, strategic relationships with key suppliers and internal stakeholders.</li><li>Conduct supplier performance reviews and risk mitigation planning.</li></ul>Contracting and Negotiation<ul><li>Lead supplier selection, negotiation, and performance management to ensure quality, cost, and delivery goals are met.</li><li>Lead negotiations for multi-million-dollar equipment and raw materials contracts.</li><li>Collaborate with legal and commercial teams to develop fit-for-purpose contract templates.</li><li>Ensure favorable terms and risk mitigation in all agreements.</li></ul>Cost Optimization and Value Creation<ul><li>Establish and track key procurement metrics to ensure cost efficiency and supply chain effectiveness</li><li>Identify and drive cost-saving opportunities and value-added initiatives across the category</li><li>Leverage extensive market and supplier knowledge to drive lower TCO</li><li>Drive working capital improvements and operational efficiencies.</li></ul>What we’re looking for<ul><li>Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, Business, or related field</li><li>Expertise in category management of capex and raw materials strategy.</li><li>Solid experience in strategic sourcing and or category management in manufacturing or industrial sectors</li><li>Proven experience with supplier negotiations, contract management, and cost analysis</li><li>Demonstrated analytical, critical thinking, and thought leadership skills</li><li>Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines</li><li>Strong capabilities in building and maintaining relationships with internal and external stakeholders</li><li>Proficiency in procurement software and ERP systems</li><li>Experience leading a team</li></ul>Nice to have<ul><li>Start-up or scaling a business experience</li><li>Experience with global suppliers</li><li>Deep knowledge of industrial equipment (e.g. chemical plant capex, powder metallurgy presses, machining tools, robotics, etc.)</li></ul>Our pay and benefits<ul><li>Salary: $180,000 - $230,000 depending on experience, education, and skills</li><li>Equity position in Niron via stock option grant</li><li>Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision insurance</li><li>Mental healthcare</li><li>401k plan with company match</li><li>Paid vacation, sick time, and holidays</li><li>Experience in a fun, high-performing, manufacturing environment</li></ul>
