This position plays a key role in ensuring compliance with both internal policies and external regulatory requirements, while fostering a culture of safety, sustainability, and continuous improvement. The EHS Manager works closely with senior management, cross-functional teams, and external stakeholders to deliver high-impact results.ResponsibilitiesEnvironmental Planning and Strategy<ul><li>Develop and implement comprehensive environmental policies and procedures.</li><li>Conduct risk assessments to identify environmental hazards and areas for improvement.</li><li>Design and lead strategies to reduce environmental impact and enhance sustainability.</li><li>Ensure ongoing compliance with local, national, and international environmental regulations.</li><li>Monitor, evaluate, and report on environmental performance metrics.</li></ul>Resource Management<ul><li>Collaborate with departments to ensure efficient and sustainable use of resources.</li><li>Identify and promote environmentally friendly materials and operational practices.</li><li>Monitor energy consumption, emissions, and waste output; implement reduction strategies.</li></ul>Communication and Collaboration<ul><li>Liaise with external organizations, regulatory bodies, and government agencies on environmental and safety issues.</li><li>Communicate EHS initiatives, performance updates, and compliance status to stakeholders.</li><li>Work with cross-functional teams to embed environmental and safety considerations into core operations.</li><li>Represent the organization at industry events, forums, and professional conferences.</li></ul>Emergency Preparedness and Response<ul><li>Develop and maintain emergency response plans for environmental and safety incidents.</li><li>Lead training exercises and drills to ensure readiness and compliance.</li><li>Coordinate with emergency teams to minimize environmental damage and ensure safety during incidents.</li><li>Investigate environmental incidents and oversee corrective action implementation.</li></ul>Team Management<ul><li>Monitor EHS performance in the organization and ensure EHS goals are cascaded to be all levels in the organization.</li><li>Foster a collaborative, inclusive, and safety-first work environment.</li><li>Develop and deliver training programs to keep the team updated on regulatory changes and best practices.</li></ul>High Impact Behaviors<ul><li>Strategic Decision Making: Ability to assess complex challenges, consider long-term outcomes, and make informed decisions aligned with business objectives. Includes active listening and openness to feedback at all organizational levels.</li></ul>Qualifications<ul><li>Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health, Safety Management, Engineering or equivalent work experience that provides exposure to fundamental theories, principles, and concepts.</li><li>Minimum of 5 years of experience in EHS roles, including at least 2 years in a people management position.</li><li>Strong understanding of Norwegian and European EHS regulations and standards.</li><li>Proven ability to lead cross-functional initiatives and influence at all levels of the organization.</li><li>Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with experience in EHS reporting tools and data analysis.</li><li>Strong verbal and written communication skills in both Norwegian and English.</li><li>Experience in emergency response planning, audits, and compliance inspections.</li></ul>Application We look forward to receiving your application!
