This position is for a Financial Analyst supporting a Market Area containing multiple hauling companies in Grand Rapids - Lowell, MI. The incumbent will act in the financial planning and analysis role for the Region Controller &amp; Operations. Duties will include performing business analysis, analyzing contracts and productivity optimization, assisting with acquisition/divesture due diligence and the integration or disposal process, weekly-monthly-quarterly report generation, auditing operations, and preparing presentations. Primary duty is to support the General Manager &amp; Region Controller by providing essential information and analysis that allows the Team to make good business decisions that align with corporate goals and objectives.  Essential Functions:  General Ledger/Financial Statements<ul><li>Review and analyze to extract useful metrics/data to measure performance</li><li>Support General Manger analyzing variance analysis compared to budget / forecast monthly quarterly </li></ul>Budgeting/Forecasting<ul><li>Support the field by providing monthly - quarterly analysis and training as necessary</li><li>Assist operational managers monthly / quarterly / yearly with the preparation, presentation to Region / Area leadership</li></ul>Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable<ul><li>Assist with any analysis, coding, questions, or issues</li><li>Provide billing/revenue analysis as directed</li><li>Provide accounts receivable and collections analysis as directed </li></ul>Fixed Assets<ul><li>Assist Capex budgeting, planning &amp; Assets Requisition</li></ul>Acquisitions/Divestitures/Swaps/Municipal and other Bids<ul><li>Participate in the review, analysis, due diligence, proforma’s, for business units as directed by the Regional Controller </li></ul>Pricing<ul><li>Assist with reporting price and volume results</li><li>Assist regional teams with implementation and communication of pricing initiatives</li></ul>Audit<ul><li>Assist Companies’ Internal audit teams as needed</li><li>Ensure sites compliance with company policies and procedures</li></ul>Other<ul><li>Partner with regional teams or other Executives, or individually as directed, to financial and operational matters as requested/required</li><li>Participate in training of operational staff as needed</li></ul>Additional Responsibilities:<ul><li>Assist in conformance with applicable federal, state and local laws, regulations, ordinances and other orders and to all company policies, procedures and directives from supervisors.</li><li>Assist region controllers, depending on workloads</li><li>Perform other duties and responsibilities as required or requested by management.</li></ul>Education, Training, Experience and Licensing/Certification Requirements:<ul><li>Accounting/Business BA or BS Degree from a four (4) year college or university (minimum)</li><li>Minimum Three (3) years of experience as a Controller in a medium to large business environment.</li></ul>Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:<ul><li>Possess excellent leadership, presentation, analytical, and communication skills. </li><li>Ability to focus on details, identify and solve problems</li><li>Ability to work alone or work collaboratively with others</li><li>Strong organizational skills</li><li>Advanced computer skills: Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word, &amp; PowerPoint)</li><li>Knowledge/experience with Cognos, Tower, and TRUX a plus</li></ul>Physical/Mental Demands:<ul><li>Ability to travel to and walk landfills, transfer stations, material recycling facilities, and hauling facilities. </li><li>Ability to communicate with various Management Levels inside and outside of the Company.</li><li>Ability to adapt to a constantly changing environment, manage multiple tasks, and meet deadlines</li></ul>Working Conditions:<ul><li>Work in indoor trucking office environment.</li><li>Moderate travel required within market area.</li></ul>  We thank you for your interest.
