What you will do:Clarios is seeking a highly skilled Senior Software and Controls Engineer to lead the development of embedded software and control strategies for low-voltage automotive systems. This position is responsible for conceptualizing and designing low voltage energy storage software solutions that enable cost effective power supply, distribution, conversion and control.   How you will do it: <ul><li>Design, develop, and validate embedded software for LV energy storage, power distribution, and power generation</li><li>Implement control algorithms using C/C++, Python, and model-based design tools (e.g., Simulink).</li><li>Integrate software with automotive communication protocols (CAN, LIN, Ethernet).</li><li>Tracks current and future interactions of all system components and their integration into overall EE- Architecture with the focus on Low Voltage requirements (12/24/48V) including implications to power/voltage requirements, functional safety and cybersecurity</li><li>Analyze and identify requirements and create gap analysis</li><li>Analyze Tier 1, Tier 2 and automaker solutions and create internal reports and recommendations</li><li>Lead concept development activities to generate novel product and system solutions</li><li>Identify and track key system decisions that establish technology roadmaps and product architecture to enable more effective system solutions</li><li>Lead and contribute to design reviews, test plans, and requirements reviews to further optimize the vehicle electrification systems </li><li>Collaborate with stakeholders—engineering, advanced development, business development &amp; corporate strategy</li><li>Lead and contribute to the design and building of demonstration and proof of concept products, systems and/or vehicles</li><li>Develop and present system solutions and concepts to customers</li></ul>What we look for:<ul><li>PhD or Master’s degree in Computer Engineering / Software Engineering / Electrical Engineering / Computer Science or equivalent experience</li><li>10+ years’ relevant experience regarding the Responsibility / Activities (listed below) for automotive software development projects (mandatory)</li><li>5+ years of experience in embedded software development for automotive LV systems.</li><li>Strong proficiency in C/C++, Python, and real-time operating systems (RTOS).</li><li>Experience with automotive communication protocols and diagnostic tools.</li><li>Familiarity with AUTOSAR, Vector tools (CANoe, CANalyzer), and HIL platforms (dSPACE, NI).</li><li>Knowledge of body electronics, lighting systems, infotainment, and power distribution.</li><li>Experience with Agile development and ASPICE compliance.</li><li>Understanding of automotive electronics control units</li><li>Understanding of vehicle wiring and data connections</li><li>Expertise of automotive communication protocols</li><li>Understanding of power electronics on relevant voltage levels</li><li>Understanding of Functional Safety incl.
