This is a senior role requiring both technical leadership and strategic insight into transmission policy, planning frameworks, and market dynamics.RequirementsKey Job Responsibilities<ul><li> Lead steady-state, dynamic, and short-circuit studies to evaluate grid impacts of renewable and storage interconnections.</li><li> Perform power system modeling using tools such as PSS®E, PSCAD, PowerWorld, TARA, or PSLF.</li><li> Assess transmission expansion needs, congestion impacts, and curtailment risks.</li><li> Monitor, analyze, and influence RTO/ISO transmission planning processes (e.g., PJM, MISO, CAISO, NYISO, ERCOT).</li><li> Provide insights into long-term grid reliability, renewable integration studies, and transmission policy changes.</li><li> Develop strategies to secure and optimize interconnection positions for company projects.</li><li> Partner with project development teams to identify viable sites considering grid capacity and system upgrade requirements.</li><li> Support regulatory and policy teams with technical input for filings, comments, and stakeholder engagement.</li><li> Mentor junior engineers and planners, providing technical guidance and oversight.</li><li> Represent the company in technical working groups, planning committees, and transmission-related stakeholder engagements.</li><li> Build strong relationships with utilities, transmission operators, and regulatory agencies.</li></ul>Required Education<ul><li> Bachelor of Science in engineering from ABET accredited university; other technical/science degrees (e.g., mathematics, physics) may be considered with appropriate experience</li><li> Preferred focus on power systems analysis.</li><li> Advanced degree in engineering preferred.</li></ul>Required Experience<ul><li> 7+ years of experience in transmission planning or system operations, with a focus on renewable integration.</li></ul>Other Skills<ul><li> Ability to manage the development and strategic process for energy projects.</li><li> Ability to work effectively in a multi-function team environment with strong prioritization, organizational, networking, leadership, time management, and interpersonal skills.</li><li> Ability and confidence to identify questions which affect material market/ project assumptions and raise these to the offshore development team members.</li><li> Ability to write effective, concise reports.</li><li> Position will require interfacing with senior managers within the organization.</li><li> Ability to perform a variety of tasks, over several projects, at different stages of development.</li><li> Knowledge of budget preparation, implementation, and oversight preferred.</li><li> Excellent analytical, reporting presentation and communication skills.</li><li> Strong scheduling skills and ability.</li><li> Proficiency with industry-standard modeling tools (PSS®E, PSCAD, PSLF, TARA, PowerWorld, etc.).</li><li> In-depth knowledge of transmission reliability standards (NERC, FERC, regional entities).</li><li> Experience working with interconnection processes within RTOs/ISOs.</li></ul>Physical RequirementsThe Development Analyst may be required to endure the following physical activities, environmental conditions, and physical demands:<ul><li> Moving self in different positions to accomplish tasks in various environments including tight and confined spaces,</li><li> Remaining in a stationary position, often standing, or sitting for prolonged periods,</li><li> Moving about to accomplish tasks or moving from one worksite to another,</li><li> Adjusting or moving objects up to 20 pounds in all directions,</li><li> Communicating with others to exchange information,</li><li> Repeating motions that may include the wrists, hands and/or fingers, and</li><li> Assessing the accuracy, neatness and thoroughness of the work assigned.</li></ul>
