This position will be focused on helping the team with the product manufacturing, assembly, integration and testing the electrical system under the guidance of more senior engineers. As a team member, you will work cross-functionally with members of other discipline to ensure the completion of visions and timelines set by the project. During your internship, you will gain experience in working with a professional team, working in an agile development environment.  Ideal starting date: January 2026 YOUR TASKS: The following tasks and responsibilities will be part of your role:  <ol><li>Support the assembly, integration and tests of electromechanical hardware used for microgravity experiments.</li><li>Help with the manufacturing of harness.</li><li>Support writing and execution of test procedures and reports.</li><li>Partially responsible for organizing laboratory tools, parts, and components.</li><li>Work closely with a multidisciplinary team to achieve the best performance for the overall system.</li></ol> WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED: <ul><li>You’re either a currently enrolled student or have graduated within the last 6 months.</li><li>You have experience in related fields and with electrical systems, including integration and testing.</li><li>You’re hands-on and not afraid to use tools (hammer, drill, file, milling machine…) for small adjustments.</li><li>You enjoy learning and being an active part of a development team.</li><li>You’re self-motivated, proactive, and have a “get things done” attitude.</li><li>You stay adaptable even in situations with high uncertainty.</li><li>You focus on practical solutions and execution.</li><li>You have a low ego and show empathy toward your colleagues.</li><li>You’re fluent in spoken and written English; German is a plus.</li><li>Familiarity with space standards (ECSS, SSP) is a plus.</li><li>Knowledge of SolidWorks or similar software is a plus.</li></ul> WHY YURI: Space &amp; Biotech: Is there anything more exciting than the intersection of space exploration and biotechnology? yuri is a space biotech company that uses the microgravity environment of space to develop and manufacture superior biotech products. The team of 30+ space engineers and biologists has worked on 20+ payloads for the International Space Station in collaboration with organizations like NASA, ESA, GSK, Charit&eacute; Berlin. We develop modular bioreactors and incubators for cell cultures, protein crystals or plants and launch them for scientists around the world to the ISS and other spacecraft such as Sierra Nevada Dream Chaser or SpaceX Dragon.
