As a member of the PDE team, you will be a driving force of innovation and help build the future of electric vehicle charging.</p><p>The Senior Product Design Engineer: High Voltage Wire Harness will play a direct role in the design and execution of ChargePoint’s products.  We are seeking a confident and personable engineer who has exceptional manufacturing experience, including design for manufacturing, design for cost, and assembly, production tooling development, with a proven track record of delivering world-class products in cross-functional teams.</p><h3>What You Will Bring to ChargePoint</h3><p>As a Senior Product Design Engineer: High Voltage Wire Harness, your responsibilities will focus on the development of cutting-edge new products to drive EV charging technology:</p><ul><li>Ability to execute cable designs from architecture to mass production</li><li>Design, prototype, and optimize solutions to difficult engineering challenges</li><li>Interfacing directly with global suppliers to efficiently execute designs into mass production</li><li>Identifying design opportunities for quality, cost, assembly, and manufacturing</li><li>Production tooling development and monitoring into production.</li><li>Root cause and failure analysis on parts and products</li></ul><h3>Requirements</h3><ul><li>Fluent in Mandarin and able to communicate technically in English with USA and UK-based design teams.</li><li>Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field</li><li>Minimum 6 years of industry experience in an Engineering role with 3 years in the Cable Harness or Interconnect design field.</li><li>Understanding of cable/connector tests</li><li>Experience with standards &amp; regulations (USCAR, IEC, IPC)</li><li>Experience with interference/shielding/grounding considerations (EMI, routing)</li><li>Wire gauge selection (twisted pair, micro-coax, AWG, etc.)</li><li>Strong working knowledge of injection molding, CNC machining, and mass production processes</li><li>A self-motivated individual who is comfortable driving multiple parts and aspects of the product design process simultaneously.</li><li>Ability to learn quickly and operate outside of your comfort zone</li><li>Proficient in CAD and Formboard (Zuken &amp; NX highly preferred, others accepted)</li><li>Ability to review and optimize 2D drawings, including understanding tolerances of various manufacturing methods and GD&amp;T.</li><li>Ability to travel in Asia to work face-to-face with suppliers</li></ul><h3>Desired Skills</h3><p>The ideal candidate would also have design experience in the following areas: </p><ul><li>High power system and interconnect design (up to 1kV &amp; up to 500A)</li><li>Liquid-cooled connector or cable design experience</li><li>Proven history of developing rapid prototype solutions in a dynamic environment</li></ul><h3>Location</h3><p>Shanghai, China</p><p> </p><div><p>We are committed to an inclusive and diverse team.
