You will lead the development and implementation of equipment specifications for substations to ensure legal &amp; licence compliance.<ul><li>Perform all duties with a strong emphasis on health, safety, quality and environmental matters.</li><li>Lead the development of engineering strategies, including equipment specifications, substations assessment and approvals and contract engineering with the full engagement and consultation of relevant stakeholders.</li><li>Maintain an awareness of advances in technology, equipment and best practice and steer sustainable, innovative solutions across the Iberdrola Group.</li><li>Have the opportunity to participate in Iberdrola global working groups and best practice forums.</li><li>Actively engage with T&amp;D substations &amp; equipment suppliers through engineering specification development, tendering processes and the approval of system assets.</li><li>Lead communication with wider business stakeholders on the introduction of new plant and new processes.</li><li>Represent SPEN interests when liaising with external parties, such as network customers, suppliers and industry bodies (e.g. OFGEM, ENA, etc) </li></ul>What you’ll bring<ul><li>Detailed knowledge of UK and International Technical Standards for electrical plant used in transmission applications (GIS, AIS Plant, FACTs Technologies, HVDC substations)</li><li>Operational Experience – Installation, Commissioning and Maintenance of transmission electrical plant</li><li>Tendering Experience / Technical Evaluation of transmission substations electrical equipment / Technical lead for live Equipment contracts</li><li>Substation equipment approval experience</li><li>Factory Audit / Factory Acceptance Testing experience</li><li>Familiarity with Asset management techniques, practices &amp; policy.</li><li>Equipment failure investigation experience and competence at risk assessment</li></ul>   As a minimum, you will demonstrate:<ul><li>Degree/HND/HNC (or equivalent) in a relevant engineering discipline supported by experience working on (preferably Transmission) Electrical Power Systems with Technical and/or Operational responsibilities.</li><li>Knowledge of Electricity Power System design, operating philosophy and UK safety management practices</li><li>Excellent interpersonal, communication &amp; negotiation skills - Ability to communicate complex technical concepts to both technical &amp; non-technical audiences, verbally and in writing.</li><li>Computer literacy – e.g., Microsoft Office suite, SAP.</li><li>Availability to travel to other locations, including abroad, engaging with key stakeholders and suppliers</li></ul>What’s in it for you As well as a competitive salary which is reviewed annually, you can also enjoy a number of other benefits.
