AECOM is actively seeking a Civil Engineering Inspector/CAD Designer for full-time employment based in the Halifax, NS office.The successful candidate will have an understanding of civil engineering technology, CAD, and have proven experience in the inspection/design of municipal infrastructure. They will be expected to work within a team environment and be able to communicate effectively with other project team members and customers. They will have a high level of initiative, motivation, and displays drive, energy and enthusiasm for getting things done. The successful candidate will be expected to support in the delivery of infrastructure to customers primarily within the municipal water, wastewater and stormwater sector.The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:<ul><li>Design for municipal infrastructure using AutoCAD Civil 3D, BIM Software and MicroStation</li><li>Prepare civil design drawings and design calculations</li><li>Working on complex data sets in conjunction with other CAD and GIS technical staff</li><li>Assist CAD manager to train and mentor junior CAD staff using AutoCAD Civil 3D 2016 and current versions</li><li>Assure that engineering related issues are promptly relayed to the Project Manager for action and follows up to assure timeliness of resolution efforts</li><li>Ensuring overall data quality and integrity</li><li>Inspect all phases of construction to ensure that the work is carried out in accordance to specifications regarding material requirements, alignment, grade, finish, compaction, etc.</li><li>Document the site conditions, equipment, manpower usage, material installations, quantities and the work being performed by the Contractor</li><li>Confirm that all onsite testing during installation are in conformance with the Contract Specifications</li><li>Respond to contractor and public inquiries</li><li>Ensures deficiencies are corrected prior to acceptance of the work</li></ul>
