Our customers span a wide array of industries including aerospace, defense, mobility, healthcare, pharma, biotech, clean tech, chemicals, energy, lifestyle, food production, and industrial equipment.<h2>Who we are looking for</h2>The Senior Systems Engineer designs, implements, secures, and supports enterprise IT systems across a multi-site manufacturing environment. This is a hands-on senior role requiring deep technical expertise, strong operational ownership, and effective partnership with business and technical teams.The role owns resolving operational issues while also leading infrastructure modernization and enterprise delivery initiatives across hybrid and cloud environments.<h2>What you get to do!</h2><h2>Escalation Support &amp; Availability</h2><ul><li>Own and resolve Tier 3 incidents involving hardware, software, identity, endpoints, and infrastructure.</li><li>Monitor system health, diagnose root causes, and implement permanent fixes to maintain uptime.</li><li>Serve as the final resolution point for complex, high-impact technical issues.</li></ul><h2>Enterprise Projects &amp; Architecture</h2><ul><li>Lead end-to-end delivery of enterprise initiatives, including system migrations, new implementations, upgrades, and modernization efforts.</li><li>Design, configure, upgrade, manage, and solve systems across on-premises, hybrid, and cloud environments.</li><li>Partner with collaborators to gather requirements, design solutions, implement changes, document outcomes, and complete operational handoff.</li><li>Establish and enhance standard processes for system design, testing, implementation, security, and operational support.</li></ul><h2>Cloud, Identity &amp; Collaboration</h2><ul><li>Design and support solutions across Microsoft Azure, AWS, and Microsoft 365 within hybrid and multi-cloud environments.</li><li>Administer Microsoft Entra ID, including Conditional Access, Privileged Identity Management (PIM), identity governance, and MFA.</li><li>Support Microsoft 365 collaboration and productivity services including Teams, SharePoint Online, Exchange Online, Intune, and Defender.</li><li>Integrate identity and access controls across Azure, AWS, and on-premises environments, supporting secure authentication, authorization, and least-privilege access.</li><li>Lead cloud and collaboration migrations, including on-premises to cloud, tenant-to-tenant, and post-acquisition integrations.</li></ul><h2>Endpoint, Server &amp; Core Infrastructure</h2><ul><li>Administer and support Windows 10 and Windows 11 enterprise endpoint environments, including mixed or partially migrated deployments.</li><li>Design, monitor and support Windows Server environments up to and including Windows Server 2022.</li><li>Support Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, certificates, and core identity services.</li><li>Administer virtualization platforms including VMware and Hyper-V.</li></ul><h2>Hybrid, Multi-Environment Architecture</h2><ul><li>Design and support hybrid architectures spanning on-premises infrastructure and cloud platforms.</li><li>Work within multi-forest Active Directory, multi-tenant Microsoft 365, and multi-cloud environments (Azure, AWS, VMware).</li><li>Partner with software development and digital teams to ensure infrastructure enables secure, scalable solutions.</li></ul><h2>Networking &amp; Security</h2><ul><li>Design and support network infrastructure including firewalls, VLANs, VPNs, routing, switching, and access points.</li><li>Administer and support Fortinet network and security equipment.</li><li>Implement security-first architectures aligned with Zero Trust principles.</li><li>Support regulated environments including Microsoft 365 GCC High, Azure Government, and AWS GovCloud.</li><li>Participate in environments where FedRAMP and other regulatory requirements may apply.</li></ul><h2>Automation, Documentation &amp; Leadership</h2><ul><li>Drive automation and scripting to improve reliability and reduce manual effort.</li><li>Create and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), knowledge base articles, and fixing guides.</li><li>Provide clear ticket communication and technical guidance to collaborators.</li><li>Mentor and support other IT and technology teams across the organization.</li></ul><h2>What you bring to the Team</h2><h2>Required</h2><ul><li>Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or related field, or equivalent experience.</li><li>7+ years delivering enterprise IT solutions end-to-end.</li><li>7+ years diagnosing and resolving complex IT issues.</li><li>5+ years of hands-on experience managing Microsoft Azure environments.</li><li>Hands-on experience supporting Windows 10 and Windows 11 enterprise environments, including upgrade planning and mixed deployments.</li><li>Experience handling Windows Server environments up to Server 2022.</li><li>Deep experience with Microsoft 365, including Entra ID, Teams, SharePoint, Intune, Defender, and Exchange.</li><li>Strong experience with Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, certificates, and hybrid identity.</li><li>Experience designing and supporting hybrid, multi-forest, multi-tenant, and multi-cloud architectures.</li><li>Hands-on experience supporting regulated government cloud environments, including Microsoft 365 GCC High, Azure Government, AWS GovCloud, and environments aligned to FedRAMP and/or ITAR requirements</li><li>Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to document clearly.</li><li>Strong experience in prioritizing leading competing workstreams.</li></ul><h2>Preferred</h2><ul><li>Experience with Fortinet networking and security equipment.</li><li>Exposure to OT networking in manufacturing environments.</li><li>Familiarity with ITIL processes.</li><li>Exposure to CAD systems such as SolidWorks.</li></ul>Location and Work Week: Hybrid Work Week 3 days in / 2 days remote onsite at our Kalamazoo, MI location. The BIG payoffWe are a company who is going to make a difference in the industries and the communities in which we choose to operate.Every employee of Re:Build will share ownership in the company and will share in the financial rewards of the success we achieve together, at all levels of the company!We want to work with people that reflect the communities in which we operateRe:Build Manufacturing is proud to be an Equal Employment Opportunity and Affirmative Action employer.
