Job DescriptionPosition SummaryThe Senior Analyst serves as a key finance partner supporting Technology Services Applications teams, responsible for delivering accurate, timely, and insightful financial reporting to internal stakeholders. The role leads core month-end close activities, prepares and analyzes financial results, and provides management with clear commentary on performance against budget and forecast.Job Details<ul><li>Lead and execute month-end close activities including journal entries, accruals, and cost centre reporting while ensuring compliance with applicable accounting standards.</li><li>Prepare and review routine and non-routine journal entries and accruals while assessing the appropriateness of accounting treatments for complex transactions.</li><li>Prepare financial reporting schedules including cost centre reporting, and supporting documentation that contribute to the preparation of financial statement packages.</li><li>Perform variance analysis comparing actuals to budget and forecast and prepare written financial commentary summarizing key drivers of performance, risks, and emerging trends.</li><li>Present financial results and insights to business partners and senior management and communicate financial implications of operational decisions.</li><li>Partner with operational teams to develop monthly forecasts and presentations as well as support the annual budgeting process for operating expenses and capital planning.</li><li>Analyze forecast assumptions and evaluate the financial impacts of strategic and operational decisions.</li><li>Track key performance indicators (KPIs) and provide explanations on changes month over month.</li><li>Respond to ad-hoc requests for financial data, analysis, and insights from senior management.</li><li>Other duties assigned as the role grows.</li></ul>Qualifications &amp; Requirements:<ul><li>Three to Four (3-4) years of progressive work experience</li><li>CPA Designation or pursuing CPA designation preferred.</li><li>Strong financial systems experience, including advanced Excel skills.</li><li>Leadership and interpersonal skills, and the willingness to always support the team.</li><li>Strong problem solving and critical thinking skills.</li><li>Able to translate financial terms into business vocabulary.</li><li>Highly organized and able to work in a dynamic, complex, and fast-paced environment, as well as adapt quickly to manage changing priorities and deadlines.</li><li>Excellent verbal and written communication skills</li><li>Self-motivated and pro-active, with respect to both managing workload and professional development.</li><li>Knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics is an asset.</li></ul>Salary Range: $85,000 - $105,000Position Opening Reason:New PositionBrookfield is committed to maintaining a Positive Work Environment that is safe and respectful; our shared success depends on it.  Accordingly, we do not tolerate workplace discrimination, violence or harassment.Brookfield is committed to creating an accessible and inclusive organization.
