The OpportunityAs a vital member of GFL’s EHS team, the Regional EHS Specialist plays a key role in fostering a culture of safety excellence across the province. You’ll support multiple locations throughout Ontario, providing hands-on safety expertise, conducting audits and inspections, and guiding operational teams to meet and exceed health, safety, and environmental standards. This position requires routine travel to various locations across Ontario, while based out of the Peel Region location.Key Responsibilities:<ul><li>Conduct onsite inspections and internal audits throughout Ontario to evaluate safe work practices</li><li>Perform internal audits of work practices and ensure compliance with all relevant legislation.</li><li>Support external audits and promote compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations</li><li>Collaborate with regional teams to maintain high safety standards and excellence across all locations</li><li>Lead and assist investigations, reporting, and corrective action planning for incidents across the province</li><li>Deliver safety training and new employee orientations at various sites as required.</li><li>Act as a liaison between the Regional EHS team and operations throughout Ontario</li><li>Provide guidance on occupational injury management and return-to-work programs across multiple regions with the support of the Regional EHS Manager.</li><li>Support monthly safety communications and provincial safety campaigns</li><li>Travel regularly to support location across Ontario.</li><li>Ensure record keeping for regional EHS statistics and trending.</li><li>Support NSC compliance and functions as required.</li><li>Perform other duties and responsibilities as required or requested by Regional EHS Manager.</li></ul>Qualifications:<ul><li>Exceptional communication and time management skills</li><li>Knowledge of Ontario -specific health and safety legislation</li><li>Knowledge of National Safety Code</li><li>Post-secondary education in Occupational Health and Safety</li><li>CRSP, CSO or MSO designation preferred</li><li>Experience with online reporting systems</li><li>Self-starter with a strong ability to work independently across diverse sites</li><li>Willingness and ability to travel regularly within Ontario</li></ul>  We thank you for your interest.
