Senior Digital Delivery Technician Location Durban REPORTS TO Section Manager or other professional consultant or any other person appointed to supervise him/her from time to time.PRIMARY POSITION PURPOSE Provide and undertake complex design modelling tasks, prepare tender/construction documents, provide technical support services in meeting the requirements of the functional group and its clients.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES <ul><li>Modelling and Detailing</li><li>Revit,C3D and Bentley implementation for team</li><li>Develop Autodesk templates/ Libraries and tools to maintain standards</li><li>Programming within Autodesk (Visual Coding/Automation)</li><li>Quality audit on outgoing drawings</li><li>Standardisation of all drawings on project</li><li>Visualization of 3D models of projects for presentations</li><li>BIM implementation</li><li>Handling all Autodesk troubleshooting and setting up of interfaces in respective department</li><li>Participating in office technical discussions and project delivery meetings</li><li>Mentor, train and provide technical support to junior staff</li><li>Conducting conceptual and detailed design and modelling in order to prepare technical drawings and documentation</li><li>Provide practical and economical solutions to project deliverables</li><li>Applying a deeper understanding of modelling principles to devise and deliver practical and economical solutions to problems</li><li>Maintain a high level of Modelling expertise and engineering knowledge</li><li>Undertake supervisor role and lead on projects</li><li>Contribute to the overall management and profitably of the functional group</li><li>Ensure drawings and documentation are to the highest quality</li><li>Maintain client satisfaction</li><li>Strictly adhere to SMEC’s Management System (MS), quality standards and OHS procedures</li><li>Introduce Graduate Engineers to in-house standards and the practical application of tasks and construction techniques</li><li>Assist Project Managers with site queries and reporting solutions</li></ul>KEY CHALLENGES<ul><li>To work independently and self-motivated to produce accurate models/drawings to a high standard within set deadlines</li></ul>KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS <ul><li>Accuracy of models</li><li>Meeting set deadlines</li><li>Ability to work independently</li><li>Identifies and understands technical issues, problems and opportunities</li><li>Project delivery to meet client’s ToR and departments BEP</li><li>Development of networks and contribution to team goals</li><li>Commercial awareness</li><li>Technical support and mentoring</li><li>Parametric workflow creation</li><li>Parametric Modelling</li><li>3D Details to LOD deliverables</li><li>Setup of Models</li><li>ISO-19650 Understanding</li><li>Automation and programming</li></ul>RECOMMENDED QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE  <ul><li>Professional Registration in drawing/ modelling (Autodesk certification preferred)</li><li>Minimum of 5 years in similar position</li><li>Some key experience in relevant projects</li><li>Proficiency in Autodesk, Bentley or discipline specific software essential</li></ul>We are proud of the brilliant minds we have at SMEC and are committed to ensuring that our people have the best opportunities and resources to learn, grow and succeed.
