Timmons Group is seeking a Civil Project Engineer II/III - Traffic Analysis and Planning candidate to join our Traffic Analysis and Planning Group located in our Richmond, VA office location.Essential Duties and Responsibilities of a successful candidate include but are not limited to:<ul><li>Complete operational analysis, corridor studies, traffic studies, innovative intersection implementation, traffic calming, and safety analysis;</li><li>Bicycle/pedestrian/multi-modal feasibility, analysis, design, and implementation;</li><li>Complete calculations using engineering formulas and skills and/or utilizes computers in order to solve problems;</li><li>Perform research and writes objective summary reports which are used in the completion of the project work;</li><li>Assist in the preparation of engineering planning schedules and cost estimates</li><li>Complete field observation, inspection, and data collection duties</li><li>Communicate with client staff and internal design team; and</li><li>Communicate results/recommendations to the general public.</li></ul>Skills/Requirements of a successful candidate include but are not limited to:<ul><li>A bachelor's or master's degree in Civil Engineering or closely related field</li><li>Ideal candidates would have between two and six years of experience in Transportation / Traffic Engineering and Planning, but new graduates will be considered</li><li>Synchro/SIDRA/HCS proficiency is essential</li><li>Knowledge of Traffic Analyses, Planning Studies, Traffic Safety, Traffic Forecasting, Traffic Signal Design, ITS Design, and/or Traffic Signal Timing is preferred</li><li>Bicycle/pedestrian/multi-modal project experience preferred</li><li>Basic CAD and/or GIS knowledge preferred</li><li>Experience working with DOT and/or localities; and</li><li>PE/EIT preferred.</li></ul>
