The position reports to the Process Manager.<h2>Job Summary</h2>As a Processing Technician, you will play a key role in supporting our Plastic Injection Molding Department. You’ll be responsible for optimizing mold press operations, performing process changes, and collaborating across teams to ensure high-quality production. This is a hands-on opportunity to grow your technical skills in a fast-paced, safety-first environment.<h2>Principal Responsibilities</h2><ul><li>Scientific molding or systematic troubleshooting techniques for optimizing cycle times, minimizing defects and supporting mold trials</li><li>Assist with mold changes, color changes and material changes when needed and directed by supervisor.</li><li>Maintain a safe and clean work environment while adhering to all safety policies and 5S procedures.</li><li>Maintain a workable knowledge of and the ability to operate all the controls of a mold press, auxiliary equipment, and robots safely and correctly.</li><li>Understand mold press technical terms.</li><li>Cross functional collaboration with engineering, quality and mold teams for continuous improvement, troubleshooting and root cause analysis.</li><li>Train operators and mold group employees on start-up and shutdown of press when applicable.</li><li>Adjust mold presses to ensure quality standards are correct and maintained.</li><li>Workable knowledge of and ability to use micrometers, dial indicators, calipers, gauge pins, impact tester and pressure test equipment.</li><li>Verify operation of secondary equipment such as chillers, thermo-units, and dryers.</li><li>Perform process verification checks multiple times per shift and/or during process change.</li><li>Maintain injection molding set up sheets and quality control documents.</li><li>Verify mold temperature, injection time, pressure, melt and dryer settings for repeatability/scrap reduction.</li><li>Read and understand technical documentation and work instructions.</li><li>Must be eager to learn, excited to work on a team, and have good written and verbal communication skills</li><li>Other duties as the need arises and/or assigned.</li></ul><h2>Qualifications &amp; Experience</h2><ul><li>High school diploma or equivalent</li><li>Minimum 2 years of experience in injection molding or 1 year operating a mold press</li><li>At least 4 years of experience in a manufacturing environment</li><li>Willingness to complete an Injection Molding Certification course (Paulson, A. Routsis, or equivalent)</li><li>Forklift certification (or ability to obtain)</li><li>Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills</li><li>Effective communication and teamwork abilities</li></ul><h1></h1><h2>Work Environment</h2><ul><li>This position requires 12-hour, rotating night shifts to support 24/7 operations.
