This role is critical in maintaining and enhancing our ISO 9001/14001-certified systems, ensuring product excellence, and driving continuous improvement across the plant.🛠 Key Responsibilities<ul><li>Lead daily QA/QC operations including First Shot Approvals, inspections, and testing</li><li>Oversee the Quality Lab: equipment, inventory, and budget</li><li>Ensure compliance with internal manuals and third-party standards</li><li>Manage non-conformance reports and corrective actions</li><li>Approve Certificates of Compliance and validate raw materials</li><li>Conduct internal audits and support external certification processes</li><li>Collaborate cross-functionally with production, maintenance, and purchasing teams</li><li>Drive continuous improvement initiatives in quality, efficiency, and cost</li><li>Participate in daily production meetings and report on quality metrics</li><li>Maintain accurate data in Filemaker, Hydra MES, and other systems</li></ul>📚 QualificationsEducation &amp; Certifications:<ul><li>Completion of Grade 12 or Equivalent</li><li>Bachelor of Science or Engineering considered an asset</li><li>Minimum 5 years in a quality role within plastic manufacturing preferred</li><li>ISO 9001/14001 experience required</li><li>ASQ Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) is an asset</li></ul>Technical Skills:<ul><li>Deep knowledge of injection molding, extrusion, and raw material blending</li><li>Proficiency in Filemaker, Hydra MES, and Microsoft Office</li><li>Strong audit, documentation, and compliance capabilities</li><li>IT systems familiarity including troubleshooting and database management</li></ul>Core Competencies:<ul><li>Leadership and team development</li><li>Advanced problem-solving and decision-making</li><li>Organizational agility in a fast-paced environment</li><li>Clear and effective communication across all levels</li><li>Passion for continuous improvement and operational excellence</li></ul>🤝 Key Relationships<ul><li>Daily collaboration with QA Inspectors, Plant Manager, and Production teams</li><li>Frequent interaction with certifying agencies and external auditors</li><li>Cross-functional engagement with Purchasing, Maintenance, and Process teams</li></ul>🧪 Working Conditions<ul><li>85% of time spent in the plant environment</li><li>Exposure to heat, dust, noise, and mechanical testing equipment including Instron tester, impact testers, mechanical tools, measuring tools, crane, saws and additional equipment</li><li>High sensory attention and occasional physical labour</li><li>Fast-paced, dynamic workflow with limited control over pace</li></ul>✈️ Travel Requirements<ul><li>5-10% travel across North America</li><li>Occasional visits to other IPEX facilities for audits, training, and support</li></ul>💼 Why Join IPEX in Toronto?Toronto is a city of innovation, diversity, and opportunity—just like IPEX.
