<div>This is a Full-time 16-month role commencing May 2026 Terrestrial Energy is developing for near-term commercial operation, a zero-emissions cogeneration plant for a global industry using its proprietary Integral Molten Salt Reactor (IMSR) fission technology in an innovative, small and modular plant design. Over the last 5 years, the Company has recognized the exceptional and unmatched opportunities in US markets created by the policies of the US Federal and States’ governments, and by the actions of the US industrial private sector, including its world leading IT sector developing AI commercial product. The Company is currently completing a transaction to secure a US exchange (NASDAQ) public stock listing, which is expected to secure the capital resources necessary to complete its US domiciliation as well as execute on its business plan focused on the US market.   The Company is focused on building a team of business professionals and leaders in the engineering, R&amp;D, product management and business development areas out of our Charlotte, North Carolina location.  These key resources will help build the organization structure and processes in Charlotte, NC, which will be the cornerstone to add talented people to the US team.  The Civil Engineering Intern, under the direction of Civil/Structural Engineering Manager, is primarily responsible for aiding the Civil Design team in the development, analysis and design of civil systems.Other responsibilities include:<ul><li>Prepare civil engineering design documents including calculations, analysis and design reports, design memoranda, engineering drawings</li><li>Prepare SAP2000 models of steel and concrete structures</li><li>Assist with engineering evaluations related to seismic, extreme wind, and other natural phenomena hazards</li><li>Assist in the development or verification of analytical models involving seismic loads, soil profiles, and boundary conditions</li><li>Assist with quantity takeoffs, cost estimates, and constructability assessments</li><li>Support preparation of design packages and project deliverables in accordance with organizational standards and applicable codes</li><li>Perform literature reviews and data gathering to support engineering analyses.</li><li>Participate in design review meetings, document meeting minutes, and track action items</li><li>Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams including mechanical, electrical, structural, geotechnical, and project controls groups</li><li>Assist in maintaining project files, design records, and document control processes</li><li>Conduct presentations to interdisciplinary teams and external parties</li></ul> Core Competencies:<ul><li>Strong technical foundation in civil engineering principles, including statics, materials, hydraulics, soil mechanics, and structural behavior</li><li>Ability to perform analytical work accurately and follow established engineering processes</li><li>Ability to evaluate data, perform calculations, and apply engineering judgment under direction</li><li>Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to document findings clearly and professionally</li><li>Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality</li><li>Team player with the ability to collaborate effectively in multidisciplinary environments and follow supervisory guidance</li><li>Strong organization and time-management skills with the ability to handle multiple assignments</li><li>Demonstrated initiative and willingness to learn standards and procedures</li><li>Flexible and adaptable to change </li></ul> Requirements:<ul><li>Actively working towards a post-secondary degree or diploma in Civil Engineering with emphasis on Structural Engineering.
