AECOM is currently seeking an Intermediate Civil Highway Designer, based in our Sudbury, ON, Canada office. This position is for a newly created position.This is a full-time role expected to begin as soon as possible The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:<ul><li>Design highways using OpenRoads Designer software.</li><li>Coordinate and assist with provincial and municipal design projects.</li><li>Develop preliminary and detailed design based on engineering reports, detailed notes, and client specifications, ensuring accuracy and compliance with project requirements.</li><li>Prepare preliminary and detailed design drawings, including plans, profiles, cross-sections, geometrics, drainage and utilities.</li><li>Prepare design quantities, cost estimates, and provide technical support throughout the tendering and construction processes.</li><li>Participate in meetings with internal staff, subconsultants, and clients, documenting decisions and following up on action items.</li><li>Coordinate with project managers and design team members to understand project requirements and deliverables, and participate in decisions regarding technical methods, scheduling, and cost.</li><li>Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including engineers, environmental planners, technologists, subconsultants and administrative staff.</li><li>Monitor project plans and schedules.</li><li>Mentor, coach, and train junior staff, providing ongoing support and guidance for junior staff.</li><li>Adhere to industry design standards and drafting requirements.</li><li>Identify opportunities to improve workflow efficiencies.</li><li>Conduct field visits.</li><li>Commit to self-development and ongoing professional growth.</li></ul>
