<h2>Overview</h2>We are designing the grid of the future!  EPE is looking to recruit a Manager of Interconnection Services covering the SERC region. In this role you’ll leverage a blend of commercial acumen and technical depth to guide our clients through the resource interconnection process across various utilities in the Southeast. This role is ideal for someone looking to step into leadership and who thrives on solving hard problems and learning new skills in a fast-paced environment.  <h2>Responsibilities</h2>How you can make an impact: Leadership &amp; Technical Skills <ul> <li>Lead, mentor, and empower a diverse team of engineers fostering a culture of excellence, accountability, and innovation. </li> <li>When required, step in to perform advanced interconnection studies and support the team in troubleshooting complex issues.</li> <li>Demonstrate extreme ownership by taking responsibility for outcomes, decisions, and overall team success.</li> <li>Enhance internal capability by coaching staff on both technical and client-facing skills.</li> <li>Enhance delivery frameworks, QA/QC processes, and drive cross collaboration to ensure the team scales effectively.</li></ul> Client &amp; Market Impact <ul> <li>Serve as a trusted advisor to generation and large developers helping them navigate SERC's evolving interconnection landscape.</li> <li>Translate complex technical issues into clear and actionable insights that accelerate client decision-making and support project success.</li> <li>Leverage strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills to gather necessary input and make informed recommendations even in situations where there is inherent ambiguity.</li> <li>Lead reviews of interconnection studies and identify creative pathways to remove roadblocks and expedite projects.</li></ul> Commercial &amp; Strategic Growth <ul> <li>Identify and pursue new service lines and products.</li> <li>Lead proposal and RFP development efforts.</li> <li>Contribute thought leadership through conferences, technical papers, and industry forums.</li> <li>Drive the development of internal tools and analytics that strengthen EPE’s position in the market.</li></ul><h2>Qualifications</h2>Bring your passion, here's what’s needed:<ul> <li>Minimum 4 years of experience in the electric energy industry and ideally having a solid technical background in transmission planning or interconnection.</li> <li>Strong understanding of power system analysis and associated software tools (e.g., PSS/E, TARA PSCAD, PSLF, or PowerWorld).</li> <li>Proven ability to connect the dots between technical depth and commercial strategy.</li> <li>Exceptional communicator who can influence, create alignment and make decisions confidently under uncertainty.</li> <li>Strong understanding of the interconnection requirements of at least one major utility in SERC.</li> <li>Strong written and verbal communication and ability to work collaboratively and effectively with cross-functional teams.</li> <li>Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.</li></ul> Beneficial Experience <ul> <li>Direct experience working at a Utility within SERC or on behalf of these entities as a consultant.</li> <li>Experience with performing load interconnection studies</li> <li>Experience in IBR modelling and/or load modelling.</li></ul> Join us in leading the change!  Be a part of an innovative team shaping the grid of the future through advanced energy intelligence.  For more than half a century, Electric Power Engineers (EPE) has partnered with power and energy clients across the globe, providing consulting expertise and energy intelligence software solutions for complex engineering and grid modeling challenges.
