GFL Environmental is looking for a production technician to support our liquid waste processing facility.  Key Responsibilities:<ul><li>Operation of distillation units</li><li>Operation of steam boilers</li><li>Operation of cooling tower</li><li>Responsible for wastewater facility, boiler water treatment/test</li><li>Monitor Air compressors and nitrogen generator</li><li>Operate 3 units under normal working conditions during a shift</li><li>Monitor pressure and temperatures</li><li>Ensure product quality and consistency</li><li>Employ good practices to provide good yields and throughputs</li><li>Fill and operate stills, vacuum pumps, process pumps; mixing and sampling materials</li><li>Loading/unloading bulk tankers, filling drums and containers</li><li>In-process sampling and analysis</li><li>1st line maintenance</li><li>Monitoring process safety and environmental status</li><li>Housekeeping</li><li>Ensuring safe working practices and following all regulations, policies and procedures</li><li>Maintain positive working relationship with all co-workers, management and customers</li><li>Some overtime required</li><li>Perform other assignments as required.</li><li>4th class operating engineer license is an asset.</li></ul> Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:<ul><li>2-year Chemical Technologist diploma or equivalent experience.</li><li>Able to work 3 rotating shifts in an outdoor environment: 6 am - 2 pm, 2 pm - 10 pm, and 10 pm - 6 am.</li><li>Must be clean shaven (will have to wear a respirator during certain tasks).</li><li>Prior chemical, manufacturing, or production experience is an asset.</li><li>Ability to perform moderately labour intensive and repetitious tasks</li><li>Excellent communication skills</li><li>Planning and organizational skills</li><li>Ability to analyze and solve problems</li><li>Able to work independently and in a team environment</li></ul>#GFLTalent  We thank you for your interest.
