This role provides overarching <b>technical leadership, organizational direction, and product strategy</b> for power conversion solutions and eBOS architectures that support utility-scale solar and renewable energy systems.</p><p>The VP of engineering oversees a global team of <b>40+ engineers</b> across multiple disciplines—power electronics, firmware/software, electrical engineering, systems engineering, testing, and reliability—ensuring world-class product execution and long-term technology differentiation.</p><h2><b>Key Responsibilities</b></h2><h3><b>Executive Leadership &amp; Strategy</b></h3><ul><li><p>Define the long-term technology roadmap for Power Conversion and eBOS product lines, aligned with corporate objectives and market evolution.</p></li><li><p>Serve as the primary technical authority for all engineering decisions within these domains.</p></li><li><p>Provide clear vision, prioritization, and resource direction for multiple engineering groups globally.</p></li><li><p>Collaborate closely with Product Management, Operations, Supply Chain, and Executive Leadership to drive product portfolio success.</p></li></ul><h3><b>Engineering Team Management</b></h3><ul><li><p>Lead, mentor, and scale global teams of 40+ engineers, fostering a high-performance culture focused on innovation, accountability, and continuous improvement.</p></li><li><p>Develop organizational structure, roles, and competencies needed to meet business and technology objectives.</p></li><li><p>Oversee recruiting, career development, succession planning, and performance management across the engineering organization.</p></li></ul><h3><b>Product Development &amp; Technical Leadership</b></h3><ul><li><p>Ensure all power conversion and eBOS products meet Nextpower’s standards for performance, reliability, cost, and scalability.</p></li><li><p>Guide teams through full product lifecycle — concept, architecture, design, validation, certification, launch, and sustaining engineering.</p></li><li><p>Drive cross-functional alignment on specifications, testing requirements, and design milestones.</p></li><li><p>Promote engineering rigor, including system modeling, simulation, design reviews, and root-cause analysis.</p></li></ul><h3><b>Operational &amp; Program Management</b></h3><ul><li><p>Oversee development schedules, budgeting, resourcing, and risk management across multiple concurrent engineering programs.</p></li><li><p>Establish engineering processes that improve quality, speed, and predictability of product delivery.</p></li><li><p>Ensure compliance with global standards, regulatory guidelines, and industry best practices for power electronics and electrical systems.</p></li></ul><h3><b>Stakeholder &amp; External Engagement</b></h3><ul><li><p>Act as the executive engineering representative in key customer interactions, technology partnerships, and industry forums.</p></li><li><p>Support supply chain and manufacturing teams in evaluating new technologies, components, and strategic suppliers.</p></li><li><p>Drive collaboration with external research institutions, certification bodies, and advanced technology partners.</p></li></ul><h2><b>Qualifications</b></h2><h3><b>Required</b></h3><ul><li><p>Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Electronics, Renewable Energy Engineering, or a related field.</p></li><li><p>15+ years of engineering leadership experience in power conversion, power electronics, or electrical systems.</p></li><li><p>Proven track record leading large, globally distributed engineering organizations.</p></li><li><p>Deep technical expertise in inverter design, power conversion systems, grid integration, or eBOS architectures.</p></li><li><p>Strong executive presence with the ability to influence at all levels of the organization.</p></li></ul><h3><b>Preferred</b></h3><ul><li><p>Experience in utility-scale solar, energy storage, or renewable energy product environments.</p></li><li><p>Demonstrated success delivering high-reliability hardware products to global markets.</p></li><li><p>MBA or relevant business leadership training.</p></li></ul><h2><b>Success Factors</b></h2><ul><li><p>Ability to balance strategic thinking with hands-on technical leadership.</p></li><li><p>Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.</p></li><li><p>Passion for renewable energy innovation and scalable engineering execution.</p></li><li><p>Capability to drive organizational excellence in a high-growth, global company.</p></li></ul><p><span>Pay is based on market location and may vary based on factors including experience, skills, education and other job-related reasons.
