We’re looking for talented, committed individuals to join our team as we push onward toward certifying the Joby aircraft, scaling our manufacturing, and launching our initial commercial service.</p><h2>Overview</h2><p>We are seeking an experienced and motivated individual to join our team as a temporary Special Projects Senior Composite Technician. In this role, you will play a crucial role in performing composite layup operations to manufacture high-quality composite parts. The ideal candidate should have at least five years of experience and possess advanced abilities and demonstrated expertise in material placement, orientation, and consolidation techniques. High proficiency in performing vacuum bagging and curing operations are also required for this role. As a Senior Composite Technician, you will not only be responsible for executing complex part builds with precision but will also train and mentor other technicians. Your extensive knowledge and experience in composite layup operations will be invaluable in guiding and supporting the professional development of your colleagues.</p><h2>Responsibilities</h2><ul> <li>Perform composite layup operations with exceptional attention to detail and accuracy, ensuring quality standards are met.</li> <li>Utilize your expertise in material placement, orientation, and consolidation to achieve the desired mechanical properties and part dimensions. </li> <li>Execute vacuum bagging, debulking, and curing operations with proficiency, ensuring proper consolidation, and curing of composite parts.</li> <li>Train and mentor other technicians. Sharing your knowledge and skills to help them enhance their composite layup abilities.</li> <li>Lead complex part builds, taking charge of planning, organizing, and coordinating the layup process to ensure successful outcomes.</li> <li>Collaborate with engineering and design teams to interpret specifications and engineering drawings, ensuring adherence to the required standards.</li> <li>Conduct quality inspections and perform necessary tests to verify compliance with specifications and identify any defects or irregularities.</li></ul><h2>Required</h2><ul> <li>Reliability and punctuality</li> <li>Dependable transportation</li> <li>Ability to follow safe work practices</li> <li>Willingness to learn and develop skills in composite layup using composite prepreg materials</li> <li>Strong attention to detail and precision</li> <li>Manual dexterity and ability to use hand tools</li> <li>Good hand-eye coordination</li> <li>Strong commitment to quality standards and procedures</li> <li>Ability to effectively work as part of a team</li> <li>Basic computer skills for documentation and record-keeping purposes</li> <li> Ability to lift up to 50 lbs</li> <li>Knowledge of basic hand tools</li> <li>Ability to become certified to wear a respirator</li> <li>Ability to maintain work area in a neat, orderly, and organized manner</li> <li> Have no known allergies to epoxies or other composite materials</li> <li>Ability to verbally communicate, read, and comprehend written and verbal instructions</li></ul><h2>Desired</h2><p>The target base pay for this position is $30-$35/hour.
