The SE is a critical member of the customer-facing team, and the position is one which brings with it an excellent opportunity to learn and grow within a lively and challenging environment.In this role, you’ll support all pre- and post-sales technical efforts for government customers across the APAC region — including Indonesia, India, the Philippines, Thailand, and more.Please note that this role requires extensive international travel (planned and unplanned), including travel that might occur on short notice. What you'll do:<ul><li>Serve as the frontline sales and solutions lead for prospective customers across global governments (state, local, federal, and international) and enterprise, acting as a trusted advisor who can think on their feet and respond in real time</li><li>Lead customer-facing conversations end-to-end, from discovery to close, confidently facilitating meetings, presentations, and workshops with senior stakeholders</li><li>Demonstrate Tomorrow.io’s value in fast-moving, high-stakes environments by deeply understanding customer missions and translating complex technical capabilities into compelling business outcomes</li><li>Own problem discovery and solution design, including building and delivering live demonstrations and Proof of Concept (PoC) engagements, often on short timelines</li><li>Lead proposal development for strategic opportunities, including U.S. and international government deals, coordinating inputs across internal teams and driving momentum to submission</li><li>Advocate relentlessly for customer needs by partnering cross-functionally with Product and R&amp;D to shape solutions and unblock issues</li><li>Operate with flexibility and urgency - this role is not a traditional 9-to-5 and may require travel and customer engagement on short notice, including during critical events</li><li>Become a subject-matter expert in Tomorrow.io’s current and future capabilities, working closely with Sales and Business Development to drive revenue and close complex deals </li></ul>What you bring:<ul><li>5+ years of professional experience in operational meteorology, weather forecasting, or applied climate services - a must</li><li>Strong applied understanding of radar and satellite data interpretation, nowcasting, and the use of NWP outputs for real-world decision-making</li><li>Experience in the SaaS or weather technology industry, ideally supporting enterprise or government clients in technical roles</li><li>Familiarity with APIs and cloud-based data integration workflows</li><li>Excellent communication and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and explain complex topics to diverse stakeholders</li><li>Experience working in a fast-paced environment, especially in a cross-functional team that spans multiple time zones </li><li>Ability to travel internationally, often with very little notice </li></ul>Bonus Experience:<ul><li>Master’s degree or higher in Atmospheric Science, Meteorology, Earth Sciences, or a closely related discipline</li><li>Hands-on experience working with geospatial datasets (e.g., satellite, radar, or reanalysis data)</li><li>Familiarity with configuring or analyzing NWP model workflows, ensemble forecasting systems, or data assimilation techniques</li><li>Experience advising or delivering technical solutions to public-sector organizations in the APAC region</li><li>Proficiency with relevant tools or languages (e.g., GIS, Python, WRF, ECMWF APIs)</li><li>Fluency in one or more regional languages (e.g., Bahasa Indonesia, Hindi, Thai, Vietnamese, Tagalog)</li><li>Prior experience in pre-sales, customer success, or implementation roles at early-stage or growth-stage tech companies</li></ul>Tomorrow.io Solutions Engineers play a crucial role in our sales cycle by both designing the solutions and guiding customers to realize the business value.
