During this internship, you will be embedded within a small team of engineers, and will contribute directly towards the design, validation, and test development of our revolutionary electric air taxi. Joby is looking for candidates with hands-on experience working with electronics on projects/clubs. The ideal candidate is energetic, has a positive attitude, is flexible and excited about learning. The level of responsibilities will depend on your ability to complete tasks and the specific team that you join!</p><h2>Responsibilities</h2><ul> <li>Support a wide variety of projects related to the development of DC/DCs, propulsion inverters, magnetics, and manufacturing test stands</li> <li>Schematic and layout design for high voltage power electronics board</li> <li>Support manufacturing by troubleshooting critical production issues and designing test procedures</li> <li>Board-level rework and soldering</li> <li>Functional testing</li> <li>Participate in detailed root cause and failure analysis</li></ul><h2>Required</h2><ul> <li>Pursuing B.S./M.S. in electrical engineering</li> <li>Heavy coursework or hands-on project experience with a focus in power electronics</li> <li>Experience making or testing or other hands on experience with actual hardware or software; especially personal project not related to work or school</li> <li>Heading into junior or senior year of undergraduate degree or above</li> <li>Available Summer 2026</li> <li>Strong problem solving and communication skills</li> <li>Willingness to learn, be mentored, and improve</li> <li>Passionate about engineering</li></ul><h2>Desired</h2><ul> <li>Experience with electronics CAD (Altium preferred but other systems acceptable)</li> <li>Experience in scripting languages and embedded C</li> <li>Experience with high voltage systems</li></ul><h2>Additional Information</h2><p><strong>Relocation Assistance:</strong> This position does not offer relocation assistance.
