We look for people who enjoy solving real-world problems, making thoughtful tradeoffs, and shipping reliable software.</p><h2>The Role</h2><p>We’re hiring a <strong>mid-level Backend-Focused Fullstack Engineer</strong> to join our engineering team. This role is primarily backend-oriented, with occasional frontend contributions when needed.</p><p>You’ll work on the APIs and services that power our customer-facing platform and integrations. You’ll collaborate closely with Product Managers, Designers, and other Engineers to turn product requirements into scalable, maintainable systems.</p><p>This role offers clear ownership, technical growth, and exposure to real production challenges in a fast-moving environment.</p><h2>What You’ll Do</h2><ul><li>Build and maintain backend services that power SINAI’s platform</li><li>Design and evolve APIs and data pipelines using <strong>Node.js</strong>, <strong>TypeScript</strong>, and <strong>Apollo GraphQL</strong></li><li>Contribute to system reliability, performance, and scalability</li><li>Collaborate with Product and Engineering to deliver customer-facing features</li><li>Write clean, well-tested, and maintainable code</li><li>Participate in code reviews and technical discussions</li><li>Help monitor and support production systems using observability tools</li></ul><h2>Required Qualifications</h2><ul><li><strong>2+ years of professional experience</strong> in a backend or backend-heavy fullstack role</li><li>Strong experience with <strong>Node.js</strong>, <strong>TypeScript</strong>, and <strong>relational databases</strong> (PostgreSQL, MySQL, or similar)</li><li>Production experience with <strong>GraphQL and/or REST APIs</strong></li><li>Solid understanding of backend fundamentals (data modeling, performance, reliability)</li><li>Experience with automated testing and CI/CD workflows</li><li>Strong problem-solving skills and comfort working with evolving requirements</li><li>Professional proficiency in <strong>English</strong> (written and spoken)</li><li>Familiarity with observability tools such as <strong>Datadog</strong>, <strong>Prometheus</strong>, or similar</li><li>Basic exposure to event-driven systems or message queues (e.g., Kafka, RabbitMQ)</li></ul><h2>Nice to Have</h2><ul><li>Experience contributing to frontend codebases (e.g., <strong>React</strong>)</li><li>Experience working on <strong>SaaS products</strong></li><li>Exposure to <strong>AWS</strong> or similar cloud platforms</li><li>Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code (e.g., Terraform)</li><li>Experience integrating third-party APIs</li><li>Interest or experience in data-intensive or climate-related domains</li></ul>
