The Airside Safety Officer is responsible for the safety performance and safety development of their assigned business units and direct reports and will be located in Dallas, TX. This individual is a safety resource at the project, business unit and corporate levels. This individual regularly assesses the safety needs of their assigned airport/airside projects and utilizes their assigned resources to meet those needs. This individual also participates in developing DFW-DCC safety program and safety culture.Responsibilities<ul><li>Manage direct report work loads based on project volume, project need and additional department responsibilities and make staffing recommendations accordingly</li><li>Conduct regular check ins and yearly performance evaluations for all direct reports</li><li>Assess training and learning needs for direct reports</li><li>Train and support Safety Department members as needed</li><li>Review career path goals with team members, providing feedback on career development</li><li>Manage outside consultant project needs and performance</li><li>Able to determine and fulfill the safety needs of multiple projects and/or business units.</li><li>Able to evaluate the inspection performance of other department members and project team members.</li><li>Evaluate hazard and incident data to identify trends and create focus on specific project and corporate safety needs.</li><li>Set safety inspection criteria and expectations and measure/evaluate performance</li><li>Mentor Operations/Site Operations in safety inspection process</li><li>Evaluate project compliance with federal, state, local, corporate and client safety regulations and procedures.</li><li>Identify and address safety needs and challenges associated with future project work.</li><li>Evaluate and address safety performance of subcontractors working on DFW-DCC projects</li><li>Review project safety inspections with airside operations</li><li>Regularly analyze and interpret inspection and incident data to identify business unit safety trends and make recommendations to address them</li><li>Distribute project safety inspections to key Project Team members and subcontractors</li><li>Distribute open issue summary and evaluation for projects and business units</li><li>Research/evaluate OSHA current and future regulations to address project needs</li><li>Lead OSHA or third party safety inspections independently</li><li>Lead crisis or accident/incident response and investigation independently</li><li>Able to develop, select and deliver safety toolbox meetings and/or project safety orientations effectively</li><li>Able to evaluate and coach others on toolbox and orientation delivery</li><li>Enforce safety requirements with DFW-DCC and subcontractor workforce and supervision</li><li>Evaluate project safety policies for effectiveness and identify improvement opportunities</li><li>Deliver “Just In Time” on site safety training</li><li>Review and develop common and complex task Job Hazard Analysis independently</li><li>Assist with safety planning as part of preconstruction process</li><li>Lead select subcontractor safety preconstruction meetings</li><li>Identify and address special needs for Site Specific Safety Plans</li><li>Participates in project safety and subcontractor meetings as needed</li><li>Development project safety orientations that address special client or condition requirements</li><li>Elevates safety concerns appropriately as needed</li><li>Audits usage of project safety signage and provides recommendations</li><li>Provides audit and review of project documentation requirements and can enact improvements as needed.</li><li>Problem Solve: Able to research to obtain information to resolve safety related issues independently</li><li>Identifies or selects special safety/protective equipment for projects independently</li><li>Collaborates with project team to execute project wide safety stand downs</li><li>Able to identify and arrange for specific safety training to meet project or business unit needs</li><li>Is a technical resource to all members of the safety department and site operations</li><li>Evaluate inspection process performance and identify improvement opportunities</li><li>Can conduct and develop in-house safety training</li><li>Identifies corporate safety/protective equipment needs</li><li>Research and trial of new safety related products</li><li>Responsible for monthly safety summary of assigned construction projects</li><li>Acts as prime point of contact for processes within the safety department</li><li>Create and maintain positive working relationships with DFW-DCC Project Teams and subcontractors</li><li>Respond to safety concerns from client, tenants or impacted members of the public</li><li>Assist/collaborate with other portions of the corporate Risk Management Team as needed</li><li>Participate in safety and/or construction professional organization meetings</li></ul>
