Handles R&amp;D hardware, firmware, software, and completes solutions projects as part of a cross-functional team. Collaborates with team members for component delivery.    Key Responsibilities: •    Perform mechanical system and component design utilizing solid modeling CAD tools.   •    Create detailed drawings of parts and assemblies utilizing CAD tools.  •    Calculate and lay out dimensions, angles, curvature of parts, materials to be used, and relationship of various parts to entire structure.  •    Responsible for ensuring mechanical development is created per schedule and per cost objectives.  •    Generate BOMs and ECOs.  •    Involved with a project/product at its infancy and support development products into production ready capacity.  •    Interact with internal and outside suppliers to procure, deliver, and implement parts and designs.  •    Trouble shoot and find corrective actions for "in the field" products that may experience failures.   •    Contribute to component and/or solution design, development, documentation, and validation.  •    Work on agile development teams, collaborating with multiple cross-discipline architecture teams to develop hardware and software components as part of L+G Smart Grid solutions.  •    Participate in recruitment, development and mentoring of junior engineers.  •    Contribute to area-specific continuous improvement initiatives.  •    Contribute to innovative technology and solutions development and/or validation.
