<div><div> </div><div>Toolmaker </div><div>Oconee Poly </div><div>Primary Purpose   </div><div>Under general supervision, alter and repair molds of a complex and precise nature; make, alter and repair gauges, jigs and fixtures, special machines and other devices in the daily manufacturing of injection molded battery components. </div><div>  </div><div>Primary Duties   </div><div><ul><li>Setup and operate all types of tool room equipment and improvise where equipment is limited </li></ul></div><div><ul><li>Plan and lay out work, determine accurate and efficient methods </li></ul></div><div><ul><li>Read and interpret complicated drawings and work to extremely close tolerances using precision tool room equipment and measuring characteristics of steels and other common metals and their heat treating processes </li></ul></div><div><ul><li>Diagnose and correct mold deficiencies  </li></ul></div><div><ul><li>Maintain spare parts inventory for molds  </li></ul></div><div><ul><li>Work well under pressure to repair equipment quickly </li></ul></div><div><ul><li>Reads and understands electrical, equipment manuals, pneumatic schematics as well as mechanical drawings </li></ul></div><div><ul><li>Working with High Performance teams for continuous improvements </li></ul></div><div><ul><li>Keep work areas clean and orderly following 5S procedures </li></ul></div><div><ul><li>Strictly adhere to all plant safety rules </li></ul></div><div><ul><li>Take active part in group meetings to maintain safety, quality, and increase productivity and morale </li></ul></div><div><ul><li>Perform other tasks as assigned including tool work if needed in areas other than tool room </li></ul></div><div>Qualifications </div></div><div><div><ul><li>High School Diploma or GED required </li></ul></div><div><ul><li>Must have at least 2 years previous experience (or educational equivalent) with tooling maintenance and repair </li></ul></div><div><ul><li>Two year technical degree, or related certificate program, preferred </li></ul></div><div><ul><li>Strong working knowledge of machine shop tools including Heliarc and electric arc welding equipment, electrical testing equipment, micrometer, veneer calipers, dial and depth indicator micrometers, and hand tools </li></ul></div><div><ul><li>Must have a learner mentality – willing to increase scope and knowledge of the position  </li></ul></div><div><ul><li>Strong team player </li></ul></div><div><ul><li>Excellent verbal communication skills  </li></ul></div></div>Who we are: Clarios is the force behind the world’s most recognizable car battery brands, powering vehicles from leading automakers like Ford, General Motors, Toyota, Honda, and Nissan.
