What You’ll DoAs an Advanced Software Engineer, you’ll contribute to a broad range of software systems and infrastructure that underpin Vertical’s aircraft programmes. Your work may include:<ul style=""><li>Building secure, scalable data pipelines from aircraft and test rigs to the cloud</li><li>Developing full-stack web applications to support internal engineering and operational workflows</li><li>Automating and monitoring test equipment and engineering systems</li><li>Designing hybrid cloud instrumentation, monitoring, and analytics services</li><li>Prototyping and defining cloud architectures for certified and in-service aircraft</li><li>Supporting and enabling non-software engineering teams through scripting, tooling, and data processing</li></ul>What You’ll Bring<ul style=""><li>Strong software engineering fundamentals, including networking, data, and system design</li><li>Proven experience delivering high-quality software in commercial or engineering environments</li><li>Proficiency in one or more backend languages (e.g. TypeScript, C#, C++, Rust) and Python scripting</li><li>Experience with modern web development across front-end and back-end stacks (React a plus)</li><li>Working knowledge of databases, testing, automation, and CI/CD in agile teams</li><li>Experience developing on Linux/macOS, using containers, and cloud platforms (Azure/AWS)</li><li>Familiarity with scalable, secure, and distributed systems, including messaging and APIs</li><li>A curious, problem-solving mindset with the confidence to tackle complex, ambiguous challenges</li></ul>#LI-LW1What can you expect from us?We're on a mission. Vertical Aerospace builds technology to revolutionize how people fly, by making air travel personal, on-demand, and carbon-free.
