This job is not eligible for visa sponsorship.<h2>What you will be doing</h2><ul><li>Architect, build, and optimize large-scale data pipelines to support analytics and machine learning applications.</li></ul><ul><li>Lead the design and implementation of data models that improve performance, scalability, and data accuracy and integrity.</li></ul><ul><li>Act as a technical mentor, guiding Data Engineers in best practices and architecture decisions.</li></ul><ul><li>Implement ETL/ELT pipelines using tools such as Python, Airflow, and dbt.</li></ul><ul><li>Manage data governance, security, and compliance across cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure).</li></ul><ul><li>Collaborate with stakeholders across executive, product, data scientists, and business teams to define data needs and ensure alignment with company objectives.</li></ul><ul><li>Optimize query performance in BigQuery and other data warehouse solutions.</li></ul><h3>What you need to succeed</h3><ul><li>Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.</li></ul><ul><li>4+ years of experience in data engineering with expertise in cloud data platforms.</li></ul><ul><li>Deep knowledge of Python, Airflow, dbt, Google Cloud Platform (GCP), and BigQuery.</li></ul><ul><li>Proven experience designing and managing scalable, high-performance data architectures.</li></ul><ul><li>Expertise in data modeling, ETL/ELT processes, and workflow orchestration.</li></ul><ul><li>Strong understanding of data security, governance, and compliance best practices.</li></ul><ul><li>Experience with electric utility data and electric power distribution infrastructure.</li></ul><ul><li>Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.</li></ul><ul><li>Excellent communication and leadership skills.</li></ul>The compensation for this opportunity includes a base salary range of $120,000-$170,000, plus equity (stock options). This is our target compensation range and is subject to multiple factors, including level, experience, and location. As you go through our interview process, our recruiter will work with you to identify a competitive base salary within the proposed range and combine it with an equity package that reflects your excitement about joining Kevala.This is a fully remote role which can be located anywhere within the United States.
