You will serve as a key bridge between grassroots action and global strategy, managing everything from high-level public representation and media engagement to the digital coordination and logistical support of iconic regional campaigns. Duties and ResponsibilitiesDeep Strategic Organizing and Mobilizing Groups, Allies and Partners<ul><li>Coordinating and supporting ongoing organising work and 1:1 relationship building to support campaign development on the ground by local groups and members of 350’s network</li><li>Coordinate and manage logistical support for events and campaign activities as required</li><li>Support in absorption and engagement of groups into the Afrika Vuka platform through Salesforce,WhatsApp Community etc</li><li>Explore other organising opportunities based on existing regional partners’ and network-led work to scale up the climate movement and ensure representation of African voices in regional/global movement spaces. </li></ul>Support Iconic Campaigns<ul><li>Feed national and regional campaign insights into East Africa and global team strategies to ensure local-to-global cohesion.</li><li>Represent the organization at strategic regional and international movement gatherings to strengthen networks and influence.</li><li>Leading organising and movement building for key regional campaigns</li><li>Design and deliver creative regional campaign strategies ,as well as movement building activities (including trainings and "iconic moments") in ways that are coherent with 350.org’s overarching strategy on fossil fuels, solutions and/or climate impacts.</li></ul> Strategic Partnerships and Networking<ul><li>Foster and maintain strategic regional relationships, in particular with partner organizations and frontline communities</li><li>Supporting the East Africa Team, the Afrika Vuka platform, and partners across the region to achieve common campaigning goals in line with 350’s campaign focus, playing a design, facilitation, and strategy support role during meetings, gatherings, and 350-led trainings</li><li>Collect reports, stories, and audiovisuals from various sources to be shared on social media platforms and traditional media;</li><li>Feed national and regional campaign stories into regional and global communications and narrative</li></ul> Coaching and Development of Groups<ul><li>Contribute to the building of the regional climate movement by coaching 350 local groups, allies and partners, through designing trainings and building their capacity, unity and strength</li><li>Support safety and security of climate defenders in the Africa region by engaging partners and allies and connecting groups to resources</li><li>Driving, tracking, and analysing engagement with Afrika Vuka. Reporting these numbers and keeping the team informed, with guidelines on how to improve existing strategies to engage and absorb new supporters and groups into the network and importantly increase engagement from new and existing groups.</li></ul>Required Qualifications<ul><li>At least 3 years or more of experience as an organiser, facilitator or trainer in social movements, with in depth knowledge about the African climate justice campaigning landscape</li><li>3 years or more experience leading, facilitating and designing convening spaces and climate trainings for activists in Africa that aim to empower and connect the movement, as well as demonstrated ability to articulate reflections and learnings from these pieces as part of a wider organising strategy</li><li>Ability to clearly identify and articulate the resources and support local groups and partners need as well formulating plans and measures to meet these wherever possible</li><li>Commitment to upholding Justice, Equity, Diversity and Inclusion values, building these into strategy through thoughtful consideration of multi-cultural and diverse perspectives in the regional organizing strategy</li><li>Excellent verbal and written communications skills, with fluency in English and Swahili. </li><li>Experience in organising and mobilising across Africa, working with diverse partners, organising distributed events and the attendant logistics and administration of those efforts. </li><li>Proven experience at the intersection of online and offline organising, including using digital tools and communications to recruit volunteers to take on-the-ground action and sustaining supporters’ long-term engagement</li><li>Experience in community organizing work or supporting community-led groups across the region.</li><li>Ability to communicate in clear and creative ways about climate justice.</li><li>Identifying new partners and collaboration potential for the organisation as a whole.</li><li>Highly organised, skilled at prioritization and time management, and able to manage multiple tasks.</li></ul>Desired (but not required) skills and experiences <ul><li>Proficiency in French is a plus, to support non- anglophone groups in our network</li><li>Experience with Salesforce or similar CRMs for tracking movement growth and managing partner engagement.</li><li>Basic skills in photography, videography, or graphic design (e.g., Canva) to capture and package frontline stories for social media.</li><li>A deeper understanding of international climate policy (e.g., COP ,ACW processes) and how it intersects with local African grassroots struggles.</li><li>An established relationship with Pan-African climate coalitions or environmental justice networks.</li><li>Experience assisting with impact reporting or monitoring and evaluation (M&amp;E) for donors and stakeholders.</li><li>Experience in mediation or restorative justice practices within movement spaces to help navigate complex coalition dynamics.</li><li>Knowledge of digital security or physical protection protocols for activists operating in high-risk environments.</li></ul> We are looking for someone who is comfortable working both independently and in teams, highly responsive, and able to lead initiatives as well as take direction from others.  Position Type: Full Time working 36hrs/week Application Deadline: Although we hope to begin interviews during the week of 2nd of February 2026, this job is open until filled, or the hiring manager determines that they can no longer accept applications.
