Project ManagerSalary from £53,280 per year, negotiable based on experience, plus an excellent benefits package and ongoing career progression/development opportunities.Location: Edinburgh Park Closing Date: 06/05/24Permanent / Full TimeHelp us create a better future, quicker As ScottishPower we know that our people are our strongest asset, so we’re always looking for individuals whose energy, intelligence and passion can help us reach our goals.  At the heart of all business visions and activities are the people whose individual efforts and performance make it happen.  We encourage our people to be proud of where they work, to share their ideas and to own their careers.  We promote a safe working environment and push people to shape and progress their careers so that we grow our talent within the company. RoleAs Project Manager HVDC, you will be tasked with the management of a portfolio of capital projects that will be delivered:<ul><li>Safely and without adverse impact to the environment.</li><li>Meeting the customer’s expectations.</li><li>Within authorised budget and to a high standard of quality.</li><li>To the required timescales including those set out as per contractual agreement with NGESO.</li><li>Supporting and working together with Senior Project Manager and other Project Managers</li><li>Supporting and working together with NGET Project Managers </li></ul>What you’ll be doingResponsible for the management of identified projects throughout their full lifecycle from development through to final closeout.Responsible for the delivery of outputs, incentive metrics and milestones in line with business targets.  Effectively manage project risk and mitigate the impact of issues that may emerge.Promoting a high level of service to connecting customers.  Ensuring that customers are consulted and informed at all stages on the project lifecycle.Compliance with the HVDC Integrated Management System and Project Quality Plan.Responsible for the correct management and administration of contracts.Develop accurate capital expenditure forecasts and output projections on assigned projects, with full accountability for project, contractual and financial governance. Contribute to the out-performance of the price control period by identifying, promoting and implementing innovation, efficiencies and value engineering.Responsible for the development, management, monitoring and updating of project programmes.Responsible, in conjunction with the construction team, for ensuring that construction sites are managed in a safe manner and that environmental risks are suitably mitigated. Access for continued maintenance and operational activities shall be maintainedPromote and implement external and internal stakeholder engagement and community liaison for projects, including compliance with the SPEN Landowners Agreement.Responsible for the delivery of a quality, documented and maintainable product to SPT Network Operations.  Facilitate communications between SPT Projects and SPT Network Operations, ensuring that all project reviews, witness testing and handover is satisfactorily completed.Ensure system data and final records for all assets are entered into the corporate systems in line with required policy and associated timescales.Drive continual improvement by completing project and contract reviews, identifying lessons learned and sharing these with the wider business. Make proposals and introduce changes for best project management practice and behaviour across the wider project portfolioWhat you’ll bring <ul><li>Engineering degree qualified or equivalent experience.</li><li>Significant experience of managing infrastructure projects.</li><li>Project management methodology experience or qualification.</li><li>Project risk management and control.</li><li>Procurement processes and procedures.</li><li>Contract management experience especially FIDIC and NEC.</li><li>Financial control / forecasting.</li><li>Understanding of and able to implement quality assurance processes.</li><li>Health, safety and environmental legislation applicable to construction projects particularly CDM.</li><li>Team management skills.</li><li>Ability to devise solutions to complex problems and challenges.</li></ul>Minimum Criteria <ul><li>Significant experience in project managing large infrastructure projects.</li><li>Experience in construction or electricity operations</li><li>Degree in relevant Engineering Discipline or equivalent experience.</li><li>Full Driving Licence.</li><li>Project Management Qualification</li></ul>What’s in it for you As well as a competitive salary which is reviewed annually, you can also enjoy a number of other benefits.
