The Opportunity: Tantalus is seeking a talented and motivated QA Developer to join our QA team. Reporting to the Team Lead, Product Test, in this role you will be responsible for developing automated tests, building and maintaining test frameworks that ensure the reliability, scalability, and performance of Tantalus' testing infrastructure. This role involves close collaboration with product development teams to enhance software quality through test automation and performance validation. As part of an agile team, the QA Developer will contribute to delivering new features and capabilities for Tantalus endpoint devices and radio network technologies. Location of Position: This is a hybrid position based in our Burnaby, BC office. Specifically, the QA Developer will:<ul><li>Contribute to both manual and automated testing of distributed Industrial IoT applications.</li><li>Design, develop, and execute manual test cases, ensuring comprehensive test coverage.</li><li>Create and manage test data to support various testing scenarios.</li><li>Collaborate with developers to review application functionality and define effective test strategies and scenarios.</li><li>Coordinate manual and automated testing efforts to ensure efficient product validation before release.</li><li>Develop and maintain automated test cases integrated into the CI/CD pipeline for continuous testing.</li><li>Contribute to the development and maintenance of a fully automated verification environment.</li><li>Use data visualization and statistical tools to analyze network performance and identify system issues.</li><li>Apply software quality assurance best practices throughout all phases of the SDLC to drive continuous process improvements including leveraging AI-powered test tools to design, develop, and maintain intelligent, self-healing, and adaptive automated test suites</li><li>Research and evaluate new testing tools and methodologies to enhance ongoing quality improvements.</li></ul> What You Bring: Education and Experience:<ul><li>Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a software related field.</li><li>2+ years of QA/testing experience within the technology industry.</li><li>Good understanding of test automation frameworks, including test execution, reporting, and debugging.</li><li>Skilled in troubleshooting complex issues related to automation, builds, and infrastructure.</li><li>Strong experience with Python, Perl, Linux (e.g., Ubuntu or RedHat), and Bash scripting.</li><li>Familiar with the Agile process and the software development lifecycle (SDLC).4</li><li>Hands-on experience with:       - Jira, Confluence, and CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitLab CI, or CircleCI       - Test tools such as Selenium, JMeter, JTest, TestNG, or JUnit       - Oracle databases and SQL queries</li><li>Proficiency with version control systems such as Git.</li></ul> Personal Attributes Required:<ul><li>Highly curious, motivated, and self-directed with ability to work independently.</li><li>Strong technical aptitude and problem-solving abilities</li><li>Keen attention to detail, methodical and thorough in approach towards finding bugs.</li><li>Proven analytical skills and a growth mindset</li><li>Excellent communication skills with a focus on working collaboratively in cross-functional teams</li></ul> If you possess some of the key skills and experiences outlined in the job posting and are genuinely interested in the position, we invite you to take a chance and submit your application.
