Are you ready to change the world with us?</div>ABOUT THE ROLEThe Sr. Engineer is responsible for being a technical subject matter expert for detailed utility-scale solar and energy storage design and analysis through the lifecycle of the project. This role can work directly on a specific project, but primarily supports across the portfolio of projects and partners with senior leadership on critical tasks.Location preference is local to our Boise HQ, however, this role can be remote for exceptionally qualified candidates.WHAT YOU'LL DO<ul><li>Evaluate, analyze, and recommend equipment and design specifications to external suppliers and internal Procurement partners based on technical design of the project.</li><li>Review and support the creation of photovoltaic (PV) and energy storage production estimates using commercial software programs like PVsyst or in-house models.  </li><li>Lead development of in-house models and provide guidance on evolving best practices for model assumptions uncertainty assessment.</li><li>Lead Independent Engineer (IE) due diligence including contract management, reviewing IE reports, IE energy assessments, and providing feedback as needed.</li><li>Provide SME expertise support on diligence logs and calls with IE and bank partners.</li><li>Provide subject matter expertise in a variety of areas and shape department best practices for Owner Engineering review and approval.</li><li>Provide technical review, input, and risk assessment, and lead technical negotiations for key contracts and agreements including Interconnection, Equipment Procurement, Power Purchase, EPC, and O&amp;M.</li><li>Develop technical specifications for engineering design guidelines.</li><li>Serve as SME in discussions with contractors. Make design alternative decisions based on value engineering analysis and risk assessment.</li><li>Collaborate with individual department, as well as cross-functionally with other departments within the organization.</li><li>Maintain organizational excellence in terms of project timelines and deliverables.</li><li>Demonstrates the Clēnera Core Values of Caring, Committed, and Courageous.</li><li>Other duties as assigned.</li></ul>MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS<ul><li>Education: Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, or related field.</li><li>Experience: Minimum of 7 years of experience in electrical engineering, the electrical power industry, or related, including a minimum of 5 years of experience in photovoltaic and/or energy storage engineering</li><li>Technology: Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, and an ability to learn company-specific software programs, tools, processes, and machines.</li><li>Skills/Attributes:<ul><li>Subject matter expert in several specific types of equipment and understanding technical specs associated with advantages and risks of using a product.</li><li>Expert in advanced energy modeling methodologies, adept at creating sophisticated models to accurately predict energy dynamics and enhance system efficiency.</li><li>Ability to effectively lead engineering due diligence for financing and independent engineering partners.</li><li>Comfortable leading various aspects of value engineering and doing initial investigation of pros and cons, and provide influence in the design decisions.</li><li>Subject matter expert of test procedures and test results based on EPC Agreements.</li><li>Proven ability to build, navigate, and manage complex interpersonal relationships and conflicts, fostering collaborative relationships internally and externally.</li><li>Ability to independently anticipate, gather, and understand project requirements to effectively lead project engineering.
